And you expected anything different from this motley crew?

How about a meet halfway solution? It sounds like you were really looking forward to that particular beer to get done and so if it get infected you will be disappointed a little more so than when any infection occurs.
Soooo...why not brew another, LBK/smaller batch of the same brew soonest? That way if the worst happens you will still have some to enjoy. If it isn't infected you get to drink more of it.
Take away some of the anxiety kind of.

That's a good idea Brewbirds. I think I'm just going to roll the dice and wait. I have too much beer in the garage as it is and I've got the rce coming up.
Thanks for your suggestion.

There is an old saying "50% of worry can't be changed and the other 50% won't happen." That's why when something happens in my life that I should be concerned about, be it brewing, or anything else, I just think to myself "oh well, I am in for the ride". Then I put it behind me.

Sounds like some one needs a bigger garage.

That's funny!
I have never been able to drink what I brew. I am pretty much the only one who drinks beer in my house and we don't entertain a lot. I am going to start giving beer to my neighbors.
I wish there was a place to barter beer for other home made products. Beer for bread, cheese or coffee would be cool.

I dry hopped this today. I pulled a sample and it's going to be good. I'll drink this batch quickly just in case something is growing in there.

Next time try dropping a wrench or hammer in and see how that works.

Glad it worked out.
Rick, that is not the origin of "getting hammered"!

Better to drop a screw driver so that I could ... Well you know.
