Well see, if MrB won't show up then it's of their own accord, not because they weren't invited.

TBH I'm surprised it didn't happen earlier.
Most everyone is here now though, place is growing every day.
So I'd say c'est la vie.
If Mr. B doesn't want their users to benefit from vast amounts of experience, so be it.
I'm sure their customer retention will fall though.

If I want HME, and it's not frequent any more, I will consider MrB and BrewDemon. I've noticed that BrewDemon's HME refills ... the Signature Series especially ... are pricey. So, for me it will come down to value.

I don't know what the "this is your only warning" thing meant ... but in reality it can't mean any more than, "you'll be banned from community.mrbeer. pffffffffttttttttttt. No loss there.

I see a few posts about this borg are still up on MrB.

I haven't been to the Mr. Beer site in at least a week but after I read this thread I decided to see how they were working out. All I can say is the forum is very slow with days between posts in the most recent thread.

I am sure that is the problem. Up until that point it seems they had no problem with BeerBorg being mentioned even wayback when their site was actually functional. The only site they had a problem with was BrewDemon and that was due to legal issues (or them being a direct-direct competitor unlike 5g kit sites, although they had no problem with 1g, 3g, and Beermachine mentions).

For those who still go to MrB's community it may make sense that when you help a n00b you can mention this site along with another like HBT and let them know that BB is more accomodating to beginers especialy when starting with small batches. Im guessing that wont get their panties in a bunch although they may think this is Brewdemon forum due to how people were talking.

But, at least Peter came out to play. Havent heard from him since the contest a zillion years ago.

NASDAQ halted trading about 30 minutes ago due to a major computer issue. A rumor that it was caused by the programmers that did the new Mr. Beer forum has been denied by NASDAQ.

A spokesperson said "When we put out new software, we test it first, communicate to our members before releasing it, tell them what if anything they should save from the old release, and then put it out in a beta mode. When it finally does go live, we make sure the old platform is still around in a read only mode so all that research isn't lost".

A call to the Mr. Beer company was transferred to the programming division but seemed to just go into a speakerphone. Heard in the background was this discussion, "Should we sort the site new to old or old to new? I don't know, how about we do Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock to figure it out"...
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

What I find interesting, is there are a couple new brewer welcoming threads I posted on, welcoming them to the Mr. Beer site and pointing them to this site as well, that have gone poof. But that could just be their bug riddled site losing them, as some other posts I made are still up. I also noticed some editing of people's posts by a samueld, makes me wonder if they are removing beerborg links as they find them.

Heads up folks this could be serious. There are plenty of examples in the business world where a major misstep occurred resulting in loss of business so bad that the company tried to litigate their reputations back. You guys should just let it go leave the site and say no more. It is highly possible that the legal department is now trying to salvage something that can be presented to the home office in an attempt to stay the arrival of a guillotine.

It's like what I like to say at work: "If I appear to be an asshole it is only because I am a product of my environment." Mr. Beer had a GREAT forum over there. And when it was great every one was happy. Now it has all changed. And Mr. Beer has no one to blame but Mr. Beer.

But you are right, Brewbirds. We should just stop going there and "poking the bear". They made their bed. Almost all of the knowledge that was on that site has come to this one. Let's let the old forum die the death that it's creators apparently want for it.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

After that, I will forever tell people that their products are not worth the money and will always shoot people over to Brew Demon.

I am now an unpaid salesman for Brew Demon, rock on!

Tabasco, check out the individual ingredient prices…you can buy 2 signature malts (with yeast) for $18, then throw in that special 20% coupon I gave the BB and you get a 2 gallon signature recipe for just $14.40. Something to think about???

I would expect them to continue to remove posts, issues warnings, and ultimately bar a number of people from their forum. I would if I was in charge of it. Blatant redirects to other sources of information, especially one where it's been stated that a direct competitor is supporting the site, wouldn't be tolerated by any company. Use whatever forums you want, say whatever you want (remember that the internet lives forever), but don't be surprised when you're kicked off of any site as a result.
