Let me help cut down on some of your anticipation. :p

Plus I pump BOILING wort through it for 10 minutes on brew day.

Quick disconnects are also helpful if you go to pumping things.

Thanks for finding. Not big on youtube, keep forgetting about the resources available for information.

Pulled the trigger, and placed me an order with Brew Hardware, got me a chugger pump, a but load of camlock fittings, a weldless whirlpool tube, a dip tube for the weldless ball valve and a weldless sight glass. This weekend I'll toss around counterflow wort chiller or plate chiller, Austin Home Brew has some really nice pricing on the chillers.

I'm seriously thinking about a pump. That would certainly make whirlpooling and chilling much easier and effective for me. Could really recirculate the mash even in a BIAB.

SSSSAAAAWWWWWWEEEEEEEETTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!! You're going to love the new toys. I've been eyeing that whirlpool arm myself. Mines just some copper piping I threw together. Great choice with the cam locks too. I just use zip ties to hold the tubing to them.

I looked at Brew Hardware a while back and if I was going to do cam locks that is who I was using and the pump was basically the same when the free shipping is thrown in !

So counter flow or plate?

Ok, when I look up cam locks I get the type of lock used in desks and filing cabinets. Pretty sure that ain't what your talking about. How about some more info so I can find out what they are and how they help in brewing.

I confess, I bought a pump too. I plan to use it mostly for whirlpooling but I am going to see how it works with recirculating a BIAB mash.
Definitely not a needed item but will be put to good use.

Jim go to brewhardware.com and look at fittings, then camlocks. I gave been told to use my camlocks putting furniture together at times though!

If I was going away from an immersion chiller, I have one from these folks. I think this would be the way to go.
Unlike regular counter flows, you can clean it with a brush. Like plate chillers, you could sanitize it in the oven after removing the tubing. (I would imagine, JaDeD could tell you).

Edit: Love spending your money Steve. :clink:

Thanks Steve! I figured I knew what a cam lock was, just didn't know it by that name. (I was right)
