I just pitched the yeast on this one. I went with something a little off center since that is what Bell's generally likes So I brewed what I am calling either Mosquito Chaser IPA or Citra-Nilla IPA. Brewed with 6 oz of Citra hops and i'm going to add vanilla in the secondary and I used the WL WLP080 Cream Ale yeast. This should be interesting to say the least. I will post the details of the recipe later once I get all my notes together and get cleaned up from my brew day. Wish me luck!

Good luck... and how are you adding vanilla? I've had luck using actual vanilla beans, but I know others have used extract.

Did you ask Mr Bell why he is fighting Innovation Brewing Company? Bell's catch phrase is bottling innovation since 1985, or something like that. Can't confuse a craft beer drinker! Wouldn't support Bell's in any way until they drop the lawsuit they have filed.

Bell's filed no lawsuit. Bell's is opposing a trademark application which is standard business practice AND required to protect your trademarks.

Good Luck, Louie!
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

THIS.

Lots of people don't understand but the way it works is you *must* defend your trademark, or you can lose it. It doesn't matter how stupid or trivial it sounds, it doesn't matter if your the bazillion # gorilla and the other company is just some dude... the way the law is, you just have to do it.

So, sucky as it is, I don't hold it against Bells.

Good luck with your recipe Louie!

The trademark and patent laws are severly broken and if Bell's didn't pursue this they could loose the right to use the word innovation in any of it's advertising or merchandising. So don't blame Bell's or Inovation Brewing for this blame the goverment and U.S Patent laws.

And thanks everyone for your positive vibes. I will be posting the recipe and details shortly.
