For you guys, I can do better than that!BlackDuck wrote:Pictures please!!!
And the follow up:
Re: Founders Breakfast Stout
Our little boy has grown up! Glad you took the plunge. And you know what they say...once you go, er, nevermind.
Hey, did you take a dig at me? Remember Dr. Hoptagon I sent you years back? I want it back.
My Coffee Porter is almost ready but I may add some beans to the keg as I want lots of coffee in my porter. And I'm not really a huge coffee drinker.

Nice video....now I feel like we've finally met. But where is that accent from? Canada, North Dakota...somewhere along the northern border!!!

Yep, but just because I love you.Beer-lord wrote:Hey, did you take a dig at me?
And I had a few more comments about the beer that weren't family friendly so I left them out.
I think I might get into these videos reviews. I just need to be a bit more entertaining. This was purely for the purpose of proving that I drank it.
Re: Founders Breakfast Stout
Well, I'm from Washington state, but you wouldn't be the first to say they hear some type of "northern accent" in my speech. I've been asked that before but to my own ears I'm just a good 'old California boy.BlackDuck wrote:Nice video....now I feel like we've finally met. But where is that accent from? And we will meet someday. It will happen.
Re: Founders Breakfast Stout
Great review and great job on the video Ron! Oh, it's not a dig at Paul if it's the truth.
I knew if that beer didn't bring you toward the dark side nothing would. If we don't get to see you sitting on the Asheville house couch drinking IPAs, then next years trip is gonna be west. Love ya like a brother.

Re: Founders Breakfast Stout
Really enjoyed your video, Ron. I had that not too long ago and pretty much agree with your comments.....but not enough coffee for me, even when warmed.
We have a few down here that I go to when I need that coffee beer fix.....and paul's is about to be put to the test soon. Our first try that we did, The Dark Malt Rises, was good but the coffee flavor in the bombers dropped out very quickly. The keg needed more so we crushed a few coffee beans and let it sit for a week and, bob's your uncle, we had coffee porter. Needed more mouth feel, maybe more flaked oats but it was enjoyable. These colder months (such as they are down here) are PERFECT for that style.
I hope you continue your videos.

Re: Founders Breakfast Stout
I get why people like this style of beer during the colder days/nights. I may pick up a couple and just keep them in the fridge for if/when the urge comes over me.
I also forgot to tell you guys that I met a couple of guys over the holidays that have been brewing together for 10 years. 10 gallon system, nice set up. They were friends of friends that I finally hooked up with. I went over for a couple of hours during their brew day to hang out and chat and they had a milk stout on nitro in their kegerator. It was about 3.9%, so really light and slightly sweet from the lactose. It was a good gateway beer, too.
