I wish I were brewing this weekend, but instead I'm making the trek down to Miami with my wife so we can visit my folks. My brother told me about a place called Burger n Beer Joint that is supposed to be real good so I'm hoping they've got something non-BMC to wash down a good meal.

Srsly though, I've been jonesin' to brew for a while. It's been about 2 months since I last brewed!

I'm brewing up a Bewitched Amber Mod.

I think. Unless I look at my other 21 cans of HME and decide to do something else.

My starter is ready, so I will be brewing a Rye IPA on Friday before heading out of town for the weekend. I'm doing a partial mash, with Rye extract combined with a wort from six-row, white wheat, and carahell. Hops are going to be some combination of many of the following hops on hand: 7Cs, Glacier, Palisade, Northern Brewer, Columbus, Mt. Hood, Zythos, Smaragd, and Mosiac. I'll likely leave out N.Brewer and Mt. Hood (and maybe a couple others), but time will tell. I'll be using the Conan yeast I harvested from Cool Springs Brewery.

I have all the ingredients on hand to make a Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye clone; Pale, Rye, Crystal 40L, & Chocolate malts; Magnum, Chinook, & Citra whole leaf hops. Brew I will!

I think I will brew this weekend but I am really waiting for my hops. Once they are ready to pick I will be doing a fresh hop IPA.
