I'm still here, I promise. I don't get as many chances to brew at home as I used to, but the day job makes up for it
I've been crazy busy at the brewery as we're increasing production and, thus, in the midst of expansion. We should be getting a 7 bbl fermenter and 7 bbl brite tank this week. The brite tank will be housed in an outdoor walk-in that will be used to store kegs for distribution so that it frees up room in the main walk-in in the taproom. These are exciting times at Wop's Hops!
My homebrewing goal this year is to focus on lager brewing, since my Oktoberfest recipe did so well and the folks in town seem to love our lagers. Recently I brewed my own recipe schwarzbier and next in line will be either a traditional bock or a maibock, depending on when I get a chance to brew it. A lot of the current brew queue is taken up with rebrews of core beers or beers that our distributors are asking for.

Re: Where is everyone and why are you so quiet?
I was stuck in the mud south of houston for the last 6 weeks, with limited bandwidth. I came back to so cal last wednesday, only to get stuck in the mud here on friday. Now I have to get back to work and brewing. Nobody kept the brewery clean while i was gone, so I got to go through and wipe the dust off of everything. I have been back for half a week and still can't get the smell of rat piss out of my nose and clothes. I will try and catch up when i get a chance. It was quite the adventure. I will post pics if\when I get a chance.
Re: Where is everyone and why are you so quiet?
I stop in just about everyday. Past couple batches I have been dialing in some tweaks in my system. I got back to brewing with my HERMS and been enjoying playing around with the process. I have actually shaved off some time from my brew day by recirculating the mash, it's done within 30 mins, no need to go 60. Temps are locked it at whatever I program into the controller. Pumping hot strike and sparge water is easier and a lot safer than pouring a big pot of hot water by hand. I have also been experimenting with shorter boils and using more hops to make up the IBU's. I switched to Iodophor as my sanitizer, I've grown tired of Starsan and believe I have encountered a slight bug with batches here and there so switching up sanitizers is an easy way to kind of shock the system and knock that out and of course replaced some tubing along with that. I weeded out all my brass valves/fittings and everything is now stainless aside from my wort chiller and HERMS heat exchanger coil.
Thats what I have been up to.

Shamefully... I've been more of a lurker than not...
Haven't brewed anything in a year and didn't have a whole lot to post...
Contributed where I could along the way though not as often as usual.
Gonna try to boil up some brews soon and will post anything special should that kind of magic occur

Daily lurker. Just not much happening brewing-wise on my end. My other hobby (running) has taken up most of my free time... especially with the very mild almost nonexistent winter we've been having.

Haven't been here lately because I had a hard drive crash last month and it took a while to get everything back up and running on a new PC. Hoping to be more active going forward.

My dad has been in the hospital for the last 10 days. I have put in new carpet in his house, redid his shower, bought him a new couch, and completely dusted his whole house. And still trying to make a living. I have beer 30 gallons of beer that I haven't even had time to keg yet. 12-16 hour days has not left much time for extra curricular activity. Oh and also helping my nephew get custody of his boy. exhausting stuff

Good man for looking after your family, Wham.
Wishing health to your dad, success to your nephew, and a breather and a beer for you.

I haven't been on here as much as I usually do around this time of year either. I'm doing new flooring and molding in my living room and doing some new stuff in my basement bar/brewhaus, waiting for the arrival of a whole bunch of new brewing equipment that will take me a little while to get use too.
