I'm mumble, mumble years old, and I've been brewing about 6 years now, near as I can figger. Started with a Mr. Beer kit for Christmas from my BFF. She just shakes her head at what she unleashed.

Will be hitting the big 60 in June.
I got a MrB kit Jan 2009 my wife picked up on after Christmas clearance. I looked at it and said that's nice never opened it and sat in corner of my basement until the following Dec of 2009 then I made my first batch and think back now I had no clue there was yeast in the box that should have been aleast stored in the fridg. I only made 2 batches that year but Dec 2010 I joined the MB forum and ended up with 4 LBK's and made every deluxe refill MB had before moving to 5 gal. I still do mainly extract brewing but with a lot of partial BIAB so I can experiment with different grains.

Im one of the young guns on here, a whooping 33. I started the same time period as Dave. First batch was 12/31/2009 and was a Mr. Beer kit. Was doing AG within 4 months and haven't looked back. I'm now doing 5-10 gallon batches and working on a Rims eHerms electric set up.

59.
I started in May 2009. I stuck with Mr beer batches for about a year, then started creating my own recipes. About a year after that, I switched to 5 gallon batches and kegging.
I could go all grain, but I mostly do partial mash or extract batches on my stove.

I started with Mr Beer in march of 2012....
By July or August, I was doing 5 gallon BIAB mainly for cost reduction
and eventually went to conventional all grain by the end of the year .

I will be 60 this August started with a MR beer kit in May of 2011 bought it at Bass pro shop after seeing them there the previous trip when SWMBO looked at me like i was crazy to even consider buying one.
I won over 900 dollars playing poker the night before our next trip there so i bought my wife something my son my daughter and my grandson so when i put the Mr beer box in the cart and told here i was buying
my self a toy she didn't say anything. Lucky for me i found the MR beer forum before i even started my first batch. Now i brew mostly 5 gallon AG.
Cheers Ray

I like that story.

Yeah, me too. I like all the stories, actually. Many of them are similar, but that just creates the BorgBond. D_Rabbit is young enough to be my son, but our stories began at the same time on the calendar. He progressed to AG faster than I did, but that's personal preference. And none of that matters, really; he's one of my brothers in brewing, and if we ever meet, I'll be pleased to quaff a pint or two with him.
Although, frankly, alb is a lot better-looking than alla youze guys....

Apparently I skew our demographics at 38.
I started with Mr. Beer on January clearance in 2012. Started steeping on batch 2, and all grain BiaB on batch 10. I'm currently fermenting batch 60.

I'm not as pretty as the boat.
But my wife thinks I'm hot!
