I'm not a serial hobbiest, I just have many hobbies at the same time! The percentage of time spent on them tends to vary year-to-year but I never really stop doing any of them.

In no particular order (and this may not be complete either): Brewing, roasting coffee (thanks again, Jeff), geocaching, hiking, backpacking, water skiing, taekwondo, smoking (meat, not tobacco), musical theater (attending, not performing) + some others I'm sure I'm missing.

What I can tell you is that work gets in the way of all my hobbies.

I think this mentality is what is driving Zymatic and other companies to create those "Pod" brewing devices. It turns brewing into throw in the pod you got from the company and push the freaking button. And then they can charge 2x as much for the ingredients/pod because it's 'convenient'.

I agree. The Pico Brew model seems to be selling, whereas the $1,999 Zymatic is now labeled for "professional breweres". If it was 1/2 that I might consider it.
