This may be cheating a bit, because it's my most recent purchase.
I recently had a birthday and my mom sent me a check with the instructions that I could not spend it on day-to-day expenses and that I had to spend it to buy something I would not otherwise buy.
A few days later, I was looking at dual tap towers. I decided that I couldn't justify spending the money on one. Then I remembered my mom's instructions. Her check almost covered the cost of the tower, so I ordered it.
I also ordered a new tap, since I don't trust the ones that come stock, but that's on me.

I still think that counts. My other thread is about my new mill, also bought with birthday and Christmas money.
My new kettle was Christmas 2016, I think my keg fridge was 2015. I guess I have two more Christmas upgrades!

I've been looking at counter pressure bottle guns. The Blichman looks really nice but I see that More Beer has one and there are viable DIY options.

I've used the
We no need no stinking beer gun... method for years and it's worked great. But I can be a little cheap at times.

I've got Blichman Beer Gun, but I use the one that Inkleg refers to more often, almost always. The BeerGun is just too much work for the same result.

Don't drink much and read this thread or you'll go buy things you aren't ready for. In my next life, I will buy everything mentioned here in triple but for now, I'll continue to make somewhat drinkable beer to share with friends.
Seriously, you really don't need much to make great beer but all this stuff just makes it easier and I dig it but let's not forget, it's all about the beer, right?

Here's a trick I've learned and you may know this already. I'll post it for others to try and this will work all beer guns.
I put the bottles that I'm filling in a six pack carrier and set that in a 5 gallon Homer bucket. The carrier keeps the bottles upright and the bucket catches the spills. After filling I'll move the bottles to a towel on the counter for capping and reload the carrier. When done I toss the beer soaked carrier and rinse the bucket. On top of cheap I'm lazy too.

I picked up this hobby a little over a year ago and it's amazing how much stuff I've acquired in that short time. I think my next pricier purchase will be equipment to start doing all grain batches. I'm not quite ready to do it yet. Up until Christmas the largest batch I had done was 2 gallons. But thanks to gifts from Santa I can now do 5 gallons. I think I'll do at least a few more 2 and 5 gallon extract batches and then I'll probably get the bug to do something different and dive into all grain stuff. The thing I love about this hobby is most of it can be done with relatively cheap equipment if you want it to be cheap. You can spend as little or as much as you want to to get the job done.

For three years I have been talking about a portable air conditioner for my brewroom. Maybe this is the year I finally pull the trigger and get one.

Like a lot of you all, I'd love an indoor setup. But alas, funds.

LOL, in my house that would be a portable Brettanomyces Claussenii dispenser.

Finally broke down and ordered a 10 gallon Stainless kettle.
Found it at the price point I wanted and now I might look at getting rid
of my trusty, but PITA to clean 10 gallon aluminum...

Dam, I said I wasn't going to buy anything else for awhile, but my chiller is just too slow now. I am thinking of a plate chiller. Anybody else using one and what kind and how does it work?
