I think you would be OK to do that. Bottled beer goes through temp swings all the time, even the commercial stuff does. From canning/bottling, to warehousing, to shipping, to retail storage, to retail sale, to consumer storage. Not all those stages are in a refrigerated environment. I would do the the bottling before a growler if you're going to store them for any period of time. Growlers are OK of you're going to consume it in a day or three.

I've also emptied the last of a keg into bottles to make room for the next keg.
Yes, they can stay at room temp.
As a general rule, the warmer the storage the quicker they age/condition. So, beer kept at cooler temps will generally last longer.

Great info. thanks for sharing. The welding supply shop next door to my work has 5 lb. cylinders cheap and they exchange cheap enough for me. I plan on making something like BlackDuck had posted on here. See the thread titled, "Easy Keg Coolers." Sorry there's no links. I haven't figured that out yet. Also need to figure out how to post pics.

If you get a keg, co2 tank and regulator and a picnic tap you are pretty much in business, that’s what I am using for now.
As far as posting pics. Tapatalk seems to be the easiest way for me.

I will have to get back to using Tapatalk. I had some trouble in the past. I too plan on using a picnic tap until it becomes necessary to step up and out of a cooler like BlackDuck made. I don't have fridge space, but I am looking for a second fridge now. Does the CO2 in the fridge/cooler effect the pressure needed to pump beer?
