If this was to make any kind of drinkable beverage I think some one, some where in the history of the human race would have done basically the same thing with honey or maple syrup or some other naturally sweet liquid and we never would have heard about pancakes, French toast, waffles or honey toast.

Or beer.

What a sad, sad world this would have been.
