Bottled BrewDemon Evil Pilsner. Actually went smoothly. I used a new autosiphon, a short one, about 14". It works much better in small batches than the big one did.

Love this time of year especially since I started the outdoor brewing. First time I have done 2 in one day. First was a pretty involved Pumpkin Ale that included my firsh mash and a MB recipe for a coffee stout where I added steeping grains.

It feels great to be brewing again. Wanted to brew yesterday but things came up and wasn't able to so finally today got to do a batch after dinner. I did an altered version of jpsherman's "Sara is My Honey Ale" since I had no booster. This was also my first chance to use my new hydrometer and QBrew. They matched each other up perfectly. With the last 2 days being as hectic as they were, I was expecting some problems but had none.

Just bottled my Kentucky common, and had a real heck of a brain fart when I did. I made my priming solution and let it cool. But when I poured it into the beer, I poured it right into the fermenter instead of emptying the fermenter into a bottling bucket and then adding the priming solution to the beer. So some of the beers got a little bit of trub in them, but it's not too bad. I didn't go nuts blending the solution into the beer so the trub didn't break up much (also so as not to aerate it), and I had cold crashed for a few days so most of it was nicely compacted at the bottom.

Now I'm brewing the WheatOberfest, and I just finished the decoction. Temp in the mash tun dropped lower than I wanted so I had to add a quart n a half of boiling water to get it to 150.

I bottled one of my 2 LBC's worth of the WLP500 "patersbier dubbel" I made. The other one I can't say is done yet... need to wait a couple more days and check again.

This is really weird, because I split a 1200ML starter between the two batches. It was a direct pitch right off the stir plate, so the yeast should have been all suspended somewhat equally.

One of them went nuts and the other one fermented in a totally lazy manner.

I brewed a true 2.5 gallon batch of Northern English Brown Ale. With Fuggles. It's in my LBC. We shall see if it explodes, but I think I have enough headspace that I'll be ok.

Bottled a 2.5 gallon batch of BrewDemon's brown ale concoction yesterday, and today I'm gonna brew up the RCE recipe k9dude and I worked out. Pretty simple blonde ale, but should be tasty. It's a 2.5 gallon batch, too, and I'll be doing BIAB, since it's all grain, but smaller.

Old Yeller Blonde Ale
Munich - 5 lb.
Biscuit - 1/4 lb.
Hallertau - 1/4 oz - 60 minutes
Hallertau - 1/2 oz - 22 minutes
Hallertau - 1/4 oz - 7 minutes

Gonna dry hop 1/4 oz later on, too.

I'm also going to rack the South Ferry Steam Beer to a secondary during the 60 minute BIAB rest, so I can dry hop before I bottle it next weekend.

Bottled my Pumpkin Ale last night. Really looking forward to it, tasted great out of the fermenter. Will have my first real taste around Thanksgiving.
