Enjoying a double IPA from the guest tap at Pike Brewing: bartender told me it was Valhalla Double IPA. I don't know about that one, but it sure is tasty!

Re: What are you drinking?
I found a bottle of the Citra Saison I made last summer that got infected with Brett C. I though I drank all of it, but I think at some point I said "Self... I wonder what this would be like with some age" and hid a bottle away in a box I knew I wouldn't look at for a while.
Swenocha would like this. A lot I think. Its got some nice sour happening with much more intense hay/funk and much less pinapple then when it was young. Nobody could say it doesn't have enough barnyard, although it's still not "leathery" like say Orval can get, it's a smoother experience. On top of all this is the musky fruit that is still left from the citra, and all that is on top of the already very tart and bone dry citrus vibe left behind by the Bella Saison.
This makes it intense. It has the full on intensity of a west coast DIPA, yet it's totally different, because much of the flavor isn't from the hops. I love it. I wish I had saved more of it now.
The only down thing about it is it has no head retention at all. No lacing. It's SG is 0.9something - there is not much of anything in solution but alcohol and flavor it seems.

Good judgment comes from experience, which comes from poor judgment.

Me too. And, like my beer, I brewed it myself.FrozenInTime wrote:Coffee, does a body good!

Re: What are you drinking?
We enjoyed company (daughter's BFF and her hubby and son) over yesterday and made margaritas for the ladies. I was able to share 6 or ten different homebrews with Bill (who I gave an lbk to so he could homebrew last year)...Knocked down: Ruck & Maul Red, BluMoon clone, GBCP mod, Rose's Rambling Red Ale, first pour of my High Country Golden Lager Ale-very good I might add. and several others i can't quite remember.
Went swimming out back and bbq'd burgers and wifey did her oven fries...time well spent and might be an every other weekend thing so we agreed!!! Played Marco Polo with the kiddos & Frisbee... and no injuries to speak of

BPG: How is that brewed? BTW...
Drinking a HopHead Red bottled 9-11-13 and after 8 months of conditioning, tastes fantastic with a kick of ABV on the back end and NO alcohol front end taste, if you know what I mean.

Re: What are you drinking?
Started with a Belgian Witbier I had lost down in my garage beer storage area. Still good at 1 year in bottle but not as good as a batch I brewed 2 months ago. Now I am drinking modified Pilot House brewed as a true lager and with added DME and extra hops. This is a nice refreshing summer brew.

Uh... I used the no boil method, milk, lots of aeration whilst cold crashing with ice cream and ice.T8rSalad wrote:BPG: How is that brewed? BTW...

Re: What are you drinking?
Started the night with the LAST of my Black Sheep Belgian Dark Strong Ales..
An 8% oddity that ended up very vineous, with stone fruit notes, spice and legs....
Took a little while to get through that one...
Now drinking one of my Spring Thaw IPL's... I really like this one, refreshing!
It's a lager that's chock full of Centennial and Citra with a dose of Amarillo dry hop... Yum!
