I had a couple of my Citra Blondes yesterday. This summer heat is just too intense and they went down so smooth.

John, your posts warm my heart.
They take me back to days I remember oh so well. Will they be your best beers, probably not, but they will be beers that you made and that will make them so much better. You are at the top of the slide my friend (and we have no problem pushing you down it), enjoy the ride, there's beer at the end.

Down to 3 Bubs' Pale Ales after the one I had tonight. It's been around for a while and has become earthy and kinda tart. Not the same flavor when as when it's young. Might be using the rest for beer batter.

Had a Zombiekiller, then did flights, with stepson and a friend, of my Dawg LB Pale Ale, Citra Slapped Amber, Oktoberfestiv-Ale, Virgin Montucky Mud Cherry Stout, and Mid-Summer Xmas Ale. The CITRA and the Cherry Stout are bottle conditioned from Feb. and March and really conditioned nicely. We're much better last night than they were even 3 or 4 weeks ago.

Newcastle Bombshell.
SWMBO found them on sale at a local grocery store today and decided to try a sixer.
I found it surprisingly good, with a malty flavor!
Oh, it's in brown bottles too which is even better.

At Yazoo to celebrate the long weekend. Started with Fall Lager on it's debut weekend, and followed with SUE.
Then I picked up something for the pooch...

I'm drinking what I think is the last bottle of the Chimay yeast dark patersbier I brewed last year. I have never liked this beer as much as the 3787 variant of the same which was delicious. This one doesn't have all the wonderful flavors that 3787 makes, just some less interesting yet obtrusive spices and a hint of banana. It's gotten even less flavorful with age, but I actually think I like it better now then with the flavors that it had when it was fresh. Now it tastes like something simple like Yuengling might make, instead of slightly weird stuff.
