After dealing with a 5 year old with an attitude of a 14 year old, it was time for a serious nightcap. So I poured a Hazelnut Double Brown Ale by Triple Digit Brewing out of Cincinnati. The brewery is properly named as their beers start at 1.100 or higher. This one clocks in at 10% ABV, just what I need after a Kendall on the warpath.

This is one seriously tasty beer. You would never know it's at 10%. Nice nutty flavor with the dark malts you would expect in a brown ale. It also has a nice hop spice to it too. MMmmm.

Do you think she could have inherited some of the 'tude' from her father? Me thinks it possible.
I'm thinking you'll sleep well with that brew. Might nice nightcap!

The last of the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, hoping my homebrew cherry wheat which I bottled today will be better.

Black F-Rye Day IPA. First pour from the keg. Has a head that won't quit - sort of like a beer milk shake. One of the few darker beers that SWMBO will touch (meaning the keg won't last long).
Can you give me a review of the flavor profile on that? How’s the body?

My Roggenbier. It's the yum. I think I will make more in the spring at a 1.04something like gravity for post bike ride consumption.

No, brewed that prior so as to be ready close to Black Friday. It has become more or less a staple as about the only dark beer SWMBO will drink. I was at their store for the sale and it was crazy, so went back home. Was kicking around what all I should get for too long and by then the kit was gone. Don't know why as they could easily make up more, but I have to guess they were using it as a door buster. Darn good price. **kicks self again**

First, the body is as thick as it looks, both from the bottle and the keg. The head will not quit. Very dark and roasty but with hops that come through. I would be hard pressed to call it a true IPA since it has so many malty and roasted tones. The varieties of tastes and aromas make it a winner - nothing is really overwhelming (to me anyway). I used some relatively low alpha Cascade adjusting slightly for the IBUs but relied more on adjusting the bittering since I had a lot of 2012 on hand that I just had values returned from the lab. I honestly do not remember if I substituted in Nugget for Zythos for the bittering like I sometimes do since I do not usually find huge differences in bittering varieties when used with a dark beer. The one thing about this is there is a lot more chocolate taste than coffee which is why SWMBO likes it as she HATES coffee with a passion unless it is one of those Ice Caps with a drop or two of coffee and the other 12 oz of sugar related stuffs.

First time Ive put this on gas so drinking a little early. I still have some bottles left over from the last batch so will need to do a side by side as I am THINKING that naturally carbing may be the way to go. Which is good, as although I may have missed the recipe during their sale I was able to snag a nice new shiny corny.

More of my Roggenbier. Half of the 5 gallons I made will be gone if I open another bottle. Which I might. I guess we like it.
