I'm in my Summer Brewing Hiatus right now. I really have no correct way of temp. control here,so I just let my fermenters cool down from the frantic Spring brewing sessions.Yeah,I could brew some Saisons, during the heatwaves, but I think I'm just going to enjoy the numerous cases I have in my Pipeline. Hope you all have a great Summer. Cheers.

I brewed 11 gallons of SMaSHcade, Maris Otter and Cascade hops. Split the batch after the mash and one batch got 5 roasted tequila soaked jalapeños with 10 minutes left in the boil. I'll taste it after primary and decide how much if any to dry peno. I'll also have the spicy tequila to add at kegging if I think it needs heat.

Wow, I hadn't brewed any beer in about 6 months, I did a couple of root beers a few months ago, but no beer. But I got back in the saddle this weekend.

Brewed a Kolschbier on Sunday and a pale ale today. Can't wait to try the Kolschbier, my first go at that!

Right on! Way to get back in it! Best of luck with both your beers.

I bottled a Midwest Supplies Brown Ale (12 12oz and 14 1L bottles) today and then brewed one of their IPAs. Both 5G Beer. Simply Beer. recipes.

I made an in between version and tweaked my original recipe adding Vienna to give it some body and flavor. It came in at 5.5% which is what I was looking for. I seem to suck at sessions and didn't want a big beer this summer though I do plan on brewing my original, bigger version in the fall.

That's sounds perfect. 5.5% is a great ABV spot.

Agreed. I target 5.5% for most of what I brew. Any other tweaks?

Yes, I mashed at 154 this time instead of 152. Not sure that'll make much of a difference but I'm hoping for some better mouth feel. The taste from the fermenter was good but nothing outstanding but it rarely is to me at that point.
And, my hops were a bit less and structured a bit different than the past times.
My first 2 brews were above 6.5% so this is quite a bit smaller though I do like my big beers.

Had not brewed anything since April 24th, got a brew day in today. 5.5 gallons of Ginger Ale recipe from Big Brew Day, just bumped the ABV a bit to 4.2%. Note to self chopped Ginger loose in the boil plays havoc with the pump.
