Hi, my name is Billie. Just recently decided to get into home brewing and bought a brew demon kit, looked like the easiest way to get quality beer. I have now done 2 batches with the 2 gallon fermenter, the prophecy ale and the one angry pilsner. I have to say I'm really surprised how fast beer actually ferments. This is so fun. I want to next try upping the abv with adding sugar and also buying the 6 gallon fermenter. A friend gave me some of their yeast, might also try it. Cant wait to get more knowledgeable and make my own worts from scratch. hoping to learn a lot from everyone here.

Hi Billie, welcome aboard! Be careful with the sugar, it can hurt the flavor. Creating your own recipes is fun and challenging. Generally I make a proven recipe, and then try small changes, as you would when cooking. Good luck, keep us posted.

Hello!

I'm Tal - I started home brewing last year as a pandemic hobby so I'm not super new but I still mostly stick to the extract kits because the all day of all-grain brewing doesn't make me happy. I recently discovered BrewDemon and ordered their conical fermenter, which is how I found out about BeerBorg. Another pandemic hobby was watching all of Star Trek in timeline order so I dig the name here. I read through the intro links in this thread, still learned some new terminology and stuff so happy to be here, thanks for having me.

I grew up a Trekkie and though not nerdy enough to really call myself one, I've seen every episode of every Star Trek iteration including the newest ones on Paramount. The rate the spin offs are going, they may outlive us all.
