Pitched yeast this morn along with 5 tsp yeast nutrient, 4 tsp pectic enzyme into a wine. Mixed up 3 gallons of watermelon juice (ran though juicer so no pulp, seeds, etc) and 12 lbs frozen strawberries (defrosted, ran though food processor with some water mixed in to hit 5.5 gallons. Hoping for a good wine next fall for wife's birthday.

Last Wednesday I kegged my Citra-Nilla IPA and quick carbed it in the corny so I could share it today at our club's AHA Teach a friend to brew day. The beer turned out great and I am very pleased with this recipe. Today I brewed Steve's Bottoms Up Brown Ale and hit the OG right on the numbers. The LHBS didn’t have (or I couldn’t find) Cascade and Williamette hops so I had to substitute Centennial and Fuggles respectively. I am really interested to see how this one turns out.

I bottled a couple 1G brews from Jaspers, a McSwiggin's Irish Red Ale and then a modified version of it, substituting Golden Light LME for the Light LME. I got 10 12oz. bottles from each one.
I'll be starting on a smoked wheat 1G AG recipe from Brooklyn Brew Shop when the USPS mail person gets here.

Have I told y'all how AWESOME my wife is. She walked into the Sour room today and smelled beer, not good. Looks around and see that the bubbler is overflowing. Apparently Blueberry is enjoyed by bugs.
She moved it to the bathtub and cleaned the carpet. All I did when I got home was swap out for a clean air lock and make it ceiling safe if it blows.
I love my wife!

I think you should be ok with the hops Leigh, more malt driven flavors in that beer. Please fill me in on the results.

Not worried about the hops since this is such a malt forward recipe. I'm thinking that I will put aside a few bottles for when you are here in March. It should be well conditioned by then! I do have to say that the aroma while doing the hop boil was amazing. Very roasty. Really looking forward to getting this one in the pipeline.
