A Hopwork Orange by Blue Mountain Brewery. I am a little disappointed in this. It says it's an IPA infused with natural orange flavor, so I thought this was going to be a citrus bomb. Nope, not really citrusy at all. It's a good beer, just not what I was expecting.

Trying an Oscar Blues Gubna DIPA...
GUBNA Seasonal is dry hopped with copious amounts of Sorachi Ace, Chinook and Mosaic hops creating a dank, dense nose and unique blend of lemon zest, red berries, spice, peach and herbs through a clean bitter finish. (10 percent ABV, 100+ IBUs).
Right out the can I'm not getting what they say but it is pretty good. I taste something I'm not used to but not a bad thing, just different. Kind of dank, ends with a slight bight but I don't get any heat with this 10 percenter.
As it warmed up, the Mosaic stood out. Not my favorite hop but with this blend of hops, it was enjoyable.
I'd recommend giving it a try if you get a chance.

Weyerbacher Tarte Nouveau Session Sour. The guy at the store where I bought this told me it was a good sour for people who haven't had a lot of sours or are just starting to get into them, which is me! And he was right. It's just slightly sour and it hits you right in the beginning, but it quickly dissapates and your left with a smooth, easy and lightly hopped ale. The funny part is, I also bought a Gose from the same guy, so I'm going to get a sour education quite quickly. I'll go from one end of the spectrum all the way to the other.

This is quite tasty. I kind of wish I had more than just this one bottle.

Watch out Chris, that's how I got started in the sour pool. People made suggestions in the shallow end and walked me to the deep end.
Maybe I should check the Sour I brewed January of 2014 and go ahead and bottle it.

That beer sounds good, if you liked it, you'll like the Gose too.

Enjoying my Rectum RyePA. Probably as good as its going to get as it's getting old. I love what rye and flaked rye does to hops that I'm use to. Clean, sharp and simply tasty.

BrewDog Punk IPA. This is not what I was expecting, but it's really good. I was expecting a high aroma in your face IPA. But it's not. It's smooth and balanced. It's got a nice mild aroma and it's full of flavor without being real bitter. I like this. I can't put my finger on the aroma, I'll have to see if I can find what they use in their aroma addition. It's a tasty IPA.

Still got another one of the Punks to drink and I too was impressed. Different, good, want more. But damn, it was an expensive 4 pack in my neighborhood. Plus, it was still good though I think by the time it gets to me, it's getting old.
And, I wonder how the local water will affect the taste but that's something I'm sure they've looked in to. This makes me want to try more of their beers but this is all I've found here.

As far as their water goes, if they are going to use city supplied water (which I'm sure they will), then I'm on the same supply, and it sucks. But I'm sure they will clean it and then build it back up to keep it consistent with what they have built their recipes on.

It was expensive here too, so your not the only one getting shafted.

I don't know quite what to think of this one. Strong alcohol flavor 9.7 ABV masked by a lot of hops and some oak.

A lot of sayings on the can. It's different, but so is the area that it's brewed.

Holy Cow. I'm not not really sure how to explain this one. They describe it perfectly on the top of the can; Sour, Salty, Delicious. This is the first Gose I've ever had. And I've got to say, I really like it. Man, it sure hits you on the back of the tongue. Almost like eating a sour candy.

Dammit, you are going to make me go and try one now.

So...pair it with something salty like a pretzel or no because it is already salty?

I've only tried this once myself and it was on tap at a local brewfest. I found it to be wildly unbalanced. It tasted like they just threw in a sh**load of hops to make it smack you in the mouth, no aroma though. Possibly a bad batch but it turned me off to looking for it.

Mine was likely a bit old but I didn't find it overly hoppy, even considering my taste buds are shot. Might be a bit unbalanced as I did find it a little different but in a good way.
