Respectfully, this thread is the perfect place to address the topic RickBeer raised and I and others have supplemented. Unless it is a strange coincidence, a user with this same name has been posting on behalf of this board over on the other site, using some of our usernames in posts, basically saying that Mr. B sucks and that people should go to BeerBorg. This series of posts over the last several days (18, at last count, usually at night and repeated in several of the forums) have caused some ugly rebuttals, again naming some of our specific users (who had nothing to do with any of this, but happened to have their names mentioned in the posts) and also this group in general terms in very unfavorable ways. I can't imagine that that is a billboard that Louie would want to pay for. Thus, I think that mentioning it in this thread is appropriate.

If this poster's name is just an unfortunate coincidence, and the same usernames were created on both sites in the same timeframe (and maligning Mr. B and making similar comments on both sides), then apologies are certainly in order. But, things mentioned in both sets of posts make that highly unlikely. If this poster is interested in positively contributing, I welcome them with open arms, as I do any new brewer or new poster.

I went and read some of the baloney going on there, it's uncalled for. From BOTH sides. I hope no one goes and uses my name, I cause enough trouble myself without some idiot spouting off. I don't need help. Well.... ain't going there....

I actually broke my self imposed silence on the MrB board just now in support of Swen and JJ and others who've said that we aren't supportive of the type of dumbassery that was committed over there.

It's in the community drainpipe, so you have to be logged in to see it. They've hammered most of the troll posts, though I did see at least one lingering...

I think that's a nice idea BB. I do think that we need to police our own forums and keep it civil. But also try not to embarrass anyone by calling them out.

Considering I can't even log in there, I can't defend myself or tell the person to SOD OFF if they used my name. I still buy some Mr. Beer products when I find them on sale and can stack a coupon. Although I have complaints about some of them, and complaints about retail cost, and am annoyed that I can't get on the forum, I would still defend some of their products as able to make good beer as long as you use a good process, and can even make really good beer if you tweak them a bit with some awareness of the why's and how's of it.

So if they used my name up there, feel free to say so.

I was just there, the troll made another comment about the last response being BS, and then I made a post, and then MB removed the thread... and it's like gone, and like wow, um, I guess when I call someone out, they vaporize the little short bus window licking trolls. But I can't take credit for that.

I was reading it and it disappeared. There are some trolls there for sure. There are some newbies posting that do not have a clue. What gets me is some (not all, u know who u r) of the older guys that stuck it out now posting as defacto experts, but all they are doing is fostering ill will between the 2 forums. Its ridiculous. Let it die folks, stop the baloney.
