And that's a good point, I thought that way when I had to put my 12 year old Redbone coon hound down with a bad hip and kidney problems, I hunted with him a lot of nights. A friend of mine, who's girlfriend trains companion dogs, put it in perspective best I think.

They are only in our lives for a short time, but we are in their lives forever.

A very true observation.
