Right, I said "other than physical damage".
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

I'm glad you're back home and can start having a more normal life.
Good advice in this thread from people who know a thing or two, as well. D Rabbit especially, since he's in the biz. I hope you can completely recoup financially.

Actually money is not an issue here. Our insurance pays for everything then goes after his insurance to get their money back. They paid for all repairs, put us up in an apartment, replaced for cheap (we actually had a bid to get it done for $7200 this summer, we only had to pay $2500), they refinished all of our hardwood floors because of a few busted boards (it has to match!), etc.FedoraDave wrote:I'm glad you're back home and can start having a more normal life.

With the savings on the roof we really came out ahead, even after we get some professional landscaping done (big ass rock to stop that truck next time!). Heck, our insurance will even sue to get our $500 deductible back.
In case you are wondering our insurance company is IMT. They have done a great job working with us to pit things back in place.

We actually managed to upgrade the front window that got destroyed to a bay window, for no extra cost.RickBeer wrote:Also, don't start rebuilding until you consider what you might do next with the house. For example, if you were talking about an addition, now might be the time given that things are "opened up", no pun intended.
