Unlike regular counter flows, you can clean it with a brush. Like plate chillers, you could sanitize it in the oven after removing the tubing. (I would imagine, JaDeD could tell you).

Not the one you linked Jeff but got the smaller Cyclone, with 1/2"MPT ends on the wort in and out. You spent my money well I think, they claim 5 gallons to 68 in 8 minutes with this one and like the idea that it can be cleaned easily.

Damn Steve, color me jealous. I see now that they recommend that one if your whirlpooling over the other. Let me know how it does.

I have a 40 plate chiller that I run the wort through and suedo whirlpool. I use a hop spider and false bottom in my boil keggle so I don't have to whirlpool too much. Anyways, this past saturday I recirculated the wort through the plate chiller for about 5 minutes and than right in to my carboy using a chugger pump. Chilling took me less than 15 minutes and brought it down under 66 degrees. I was pretty happy with that since before it took me about 20-25 minutes to chill than I still had to transfer to the carboy. They are definitely the way to go in my opinion. Clean up was really simple too. Just switched the disconnects and ran some water back through the opposite way from the excess I had in the HLT.

Doing a "dry" run on the toys. Have about a gallon and a had water going to run it through the whole deal after it gets to boil, wash out any mfg oils and check for leaks. Then it's time to mash in a 10 gallon batch.

Update on the Cyclone counter flow chiller.

The pump and chiller shortened my brewday by almost an hour and a half!

Yep, just checked the buckets and actually have 11 gallons. I ran PBW in the kettle and pushed thru the whole system back down thru the whirlpool arm and rinsed the same way. Pulled the silvone tubes off to drain the copper and blow out the water side, it was super clean.

Have to give Jeff a big old THANKS! Second time using pump, whirlpool and Cyclone CF chiller, your cleaning tip was awesome, took the hose off the ends of the chiller, also took the Chugger pump apart, clean as a Not any bit of sticky wort or hop particles at all!

Wait, did I miss how to clean the pump? I just used it once and removed the hoses and opened the valve on the pump and used a super, duper hose nozzle on full blast and let the water run thru a few minutes.

Suggested making up PBW in the brew kettle and pumping it thru the whole system. Turned the heat on and got the mixture warm and kept recirculating back thru whirlpool arm. Drained out completely Andean warm rinse the same way for couple minutes and drained.
