Ron's right Chris, what you should do is charter a private jet for me and my 'emergency keg kit' so that I can be there when you tap it and just in case there's a problem, I would gladly lay my taste buds on the line and take one, two or ten for ya.

Sorry, no. You know I have my fingers crossed for your 'first time'.

I kegged this today and also keg-hopped with 1/2 oz of Simcoe and 1/2 oz of Amarillo. It wasn't as clear after 2 days of crashing and finished much higher than I would have liked by .006 but, I did mash this a bit high to try to get a somewhat Lil Sumpin sweetness in it. The sample tasted devine, fruity and citrusy but not sweet. Hmmm. Still, 6.7% so that's a bonus since it would have gone 7.5 and well, that's just crazy.
So here's the question, if it was supposed to be 1.067 and I got 1.073 did it finish where it should have?????? I've read it doesn't work that way but still, I'm 100% pleased.
It'll sit out the kegerator a week, I'll remove the bag hops, pop it in the k'rator and Bob's your uncle.!

I just finished kegging mine too. I did not keg hop, so it's in fridge and on the gas.

I'm not sure if works that way either....but as long as it's tasty as hell, then it really doesn't matter much does it?

I just poured my first ever glass of kegged beer. I've got to hand it to you Paul....this is a real good recipe. You've done a great job with this recipe. It's what you would ever want from a West Coast style IPA. Those two hops play perfectly together. This just might make it as my house IPA. It's citusy and slightly piney. With just a touch of the dankness. Thanks for posting the recipe. I couldn't have brewed it without you.

A real, simple recipe which are usually the best. The hops are what will make this shine. A clean yeast and keeping things above 1.060 are what I like. Gives it some body.
Try this again with another base malt like Maris Otter or Golden Promise and see what it's like for fun.
I'm glad you liked it. I'll be pissed if mine isn't decent but won't know until Sunday. If not, you have to send me half of yours.

Why don't you just fly up here for a weekend, we'll watch come college football on Saturday and drink some beer, then watch some NFL football on Sunday and drink some beer. I'll even make some ribs to feast on.

I'd like that but besides ruining your weekend and your reputation, I don't think I can see you more than once a year. It's in the Borg code of ethics.

Since I lost 2 gallons of this to an accident and took a 4 day weekend, I'm rebrewing this today (later in the day) with a few changes. I've reduced the 2 row by 1/2 lb and am adding 1/2 lb corn sugar and going back to a mash of 152.
While I was trying to get a bit like Little Sumpin Sumpin in sweetness, I don't think it worked so I'll go a little drier and give that a shot.
Oh, and I was out of C20 so I'm subbing C40 but at only 12 oz, I can't see how that will make very much difference but it's what I had on hand.

Expected 1.067 and hit 1.071. Smelled great and things went well.
I'm almost out of keg beer too though I kegged one today.

Hmmm, got a somewhat, sulphur smell coming out the fermenter the last 2 days. Active fermentation has subsided so the blow off tube is out and the airlock on. I've not yet opened the fermenter (SS and closed so I can't see shyte) and will do that in a day or two but I've never had that come out of 001 before. Too early to even worry about infection and I'm way past due one but I can't figure out why I would get this sulphur smell in this fermentation.
I'll do the old visual and taste test tomorrow and let it go a bit. Maybe it fermented a bit too cool so I now have it at 68 to hopefully clean things up a bit faster.

I'm going to brew this one up again this Sunday. It's supposed to be in the 60's here this weekend, which is unheard of in Ohio in mid-December, so I'm going to take advantage of it. I am going to make a little bit of a change to reduce the ABV. I wanted to bring this down to almost a session IPA. So I'm adjusted the grain bill a little bit, and am leaving the hop schedule exactly the same. My goal is to reduce the ABV and make it a little more hoppier than the last batch. Here's the recipe:
