I'd be shocked if SHORTER lines work. Typically the only issue involved with lines that are too long are too slow of a pour - not a flat beer.

But wow, I feel for you Jim now. Our answers are all over the place.

I definitely appreciate all the input! I will try bumping the pressure. I have another beer to keg soon, and install the tap handle. That should give me a good side to side comparison, and I can narrow down from there. I shall keep you posted with my results (or lack of).

Ok, so I think I have narrowed things down. I used a picnic tap, and switched gas lines with no change in pour. The increase in pressure helped my other kegs, but not this one. I will check again for leaks, but what else could cause this if it is isolated to the keg?

If it's isolated to a specific keg, I think you're probably losing pressure somewhere in that keg.

There are a lot of places to check, and I think we've all been guilty at one or more points of ignoring some of these points.

The obvious spot is the keg lid.

Then there are the posts. You need to check where the posts connect, as well as where you connect to the posts.

Also check the poppets.

It seems like I'm missing one, but I'm not looking at a keg, so I don't know what it is.

I just leak checked with star San water, and nothing. No leak detected from the keg lid, posts, or gas line.

Either a faulty keg or a clog on the inside maybe?

Maybe a bad connection on the beer uptake? I'm just throwing it out there....

I'd lean toward this. If there were a leak in the keg, you would be out of gas by now. If you get a good release of pressure when up pull up on the PRV then gas going in should be ok, check the liquid out poppet and dip tube from there.

Jim, are you by chance using universal poppets on the beer post for this particular keg?

I am unfamiliar with what those are.

They are replacement poppets inside the in and out posts for the disconnects. The universal ones are a tall spring and sometimes are too long to depress enough to dispense beer or co2 when the disconnects are attached to the posts. They often need to be trimmed to fit better.

If you are unfamiliar with them...probabaly not using them.

I bought the kegs from the brew store. They are used, they refurbish them and sell them for $60. I don't know what refurbishing they do or what parts, but I will look into this.

I am almost considering moving this beer to my other keg that is almost empty so I can take this one apart.

The poppets are just an idea. Others have had similar problems or not being able to get the disconnects on the posts all the way. You can take the keg apart without transfering just to see if you find any problem.
