Sure was hard to get back to normal today. The Asheville-Beermageddon 2016 was a huge hit in so many ways I wish I loop those few days over and over and over again.

Yes, today isn't a fun day in my book but since the weather here is nice, I'm going to try to be positive here. Sure, I had to get up early and wait for coffee to be made and NOT have an awesome breakfast casserole, omelet etc. And for lunch I didn't get to have shrimp and grits, bangers and mash, a pub burger or salmon salad and I'm SURE tonite I will not have boudin, DELICIOUS smoked brisket, grilled chicken or chicken and dumplings (I'm leaving a TON of awesome stuff out)

But to make up for all of this I'm going to punish myself by NOT having: a coffee porter, a nitro stout, a Pernicious, a Simply Simarillo, an imperial stout, an unfiltered Enjoy By, a Hopslam. (I'm leaving 2 tons of stuff out here!!!).........................and instead of playing Cards Against Humanity I'll punish myself more by watching tv which I'm SURE WILL HAVE NOTHING BUT FRIGGING POLITICS/DEBATES ETC ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If retirement is anything like the last week, I'm ready TODAY.

Thanks guys and gals for making awesome memories. I laughed so hard Monday night I had a headache and couldn't sleep. Seriously.

I had a relaxing morning sleeping in, but I planned ahead and took today off. :p
The whole trip was fantastic, from sitting in traffic with Paul as he enjoyed........(we won't incriminate anyone here).....a beverage. To the hugs I can still feel from my friends when we all met up at Asheville Brewing Friday afternoon, to the fun times at the dart board and pool table. The whole crew enjoying Sours at Wicked Weed as Matt explained about Robo Jason. I can still taste the smokey flavor of the fantastic brisket that Steve brought and the great omelets that Leigh and Gray fed us. I can still see Sharon dancing on the deck as the snow was falling and feel the chill from the master bedroom. The toast, with his own beer, to our other brother Ron who could not be there and enjoying Dave's Pale Ale and Saison with his house Brett.

Thank You ALL for a wonderful trip.

But can you explain how I came home with more beer than I left with?

Upon arrival home yesterday afternoon, I had to shovel the driveway. I worked today, then came home and shoveled the driveway again.

Memories of this past weekend have been running through my head constantly. The Funkatorium tour, Sierra Nevada tour, the brisket, the stinky cheese, pool table, dart board, chicken and dumplings, Cards Against Humanity, boudin, Sharon in the snow, and of course....all the wonderful family I spent the weekend with. Can't get much better than family!!!!

Speaking of Sierra Nevada. I figured thier daily output. It's a 200 barrel system that brews 12 times per day....if I figured right, that's 793,600 bottles of beer produced PER DAY!!!!! Holy crap....that's a lot of beer.

And here is a look at just a few of those bottles on the bottling line.

This past weekend was like a total immersion in beer. I lost count of how many different brews we tasted. I also learned a ton just from listening to this group of beer making fanatics. Best of all I met some great people and made some new friends.

Best of all I didn't have to go back to work when I got home since I am retireded

Well all I can say, from what I've read and seen here, is that the name of this thread probably should have been "Asheville Rocks"! Very happy to see that all of you enjoyed yourselves so much, thanks for sharing.
