As thrilling as it is to have Oracle/USA come back from a 8-1 deficit on points to win 9-8 (in other words, 8 straight race wins when a single more loss would have lost the whole series), I must admire two groups in addition to the sailors. There is no way one could call New Zealand's team "slow", and New Zealand sailed a great race series. In today's race, New Zealand led at the first two turns. The other is Oracle's shore crew, which usually goes unnoticed. They managed to make Oracle's boat really fly at incredible speeds.

With this being the 35th America's Cup match in its 160 year history, we'll have a while to look forward to the next one.

I agree that the NZ team was great.
We may have to wait a few years, two to four is normal. The reason it's only been 34 since 1851 is that there have been some long breaks. It may have been ten years before the first defense. And they stopped for wars, and sometimes no one challenged for a while. But it's been going pretty steadily since the 60s at least.

This certainly was an exciting AC series. Not the sport of "Gentleman" from generations ago. Even non-sailors had interest in watching and following the USA team.
