Like having a coffee between breakfast and lunch, but without the caffeine. I need to cut it back @ 4.7 and should be less... but I like it too good.

Kettle-soured Porter with vanilla beans and strawberries, served on nitro. Wow......creamy, tart, sweet and chocolate.ImageImage

My Kolsch that I kegged Friday night. Made this last year with 2 different yeasts in a split batch. One was crystal clear and the other wasn’t. Couldn’t remember which yeast was the clearer one. Apparently the only I chose was wrong. Oh well! It’s still delicious!

Hey Rabbit, you can still hit it with gelatin in The keg.

Glad to see you posting again.

First pour/sample of a Mosaic IPA that has been in the keg for 6 days. Not quite sure what to think about it yet. Smells great but lacking something I usually like, maybe some c hops need added? Also some more time because I rushed this on both ends.

Hah, glad you didn't let something like a little ago stop you from drinking that! FWIW, I've done a couple of Mosaic-only beers and I too feel like they were missing something. Oddly enough, my favorite local brewery does a Mosaic-only beer that is fantastic. Clearly, they know something we don't. I can tell you that I brew a Nelson/Mosaic beer that is great, though.

Finished cleaning both kegs. By estimates, guest downed 35 or so pints of the IPA and 20ish of the kolsch at our party, so rock on. Deferred brewing and won't brew again until mid-June as we will be in Scotland and Ireland for a couple weeks. So... back to shelfies. Frying hot chicken, watching NHL, and drinking some great locals...Image

Moved on to Southern Grist...

My daughter, who is a Belmont student, has been studying this semester at the University of St Andrews. Her semester wraps tomorrow, so we are meeting her over there and doing a little touring. Edinburgh, St. Andrews, tour of the Highlands with several stops (Inverness, Loch Ness, Isle of Skye, Glencoe, etc), Cork, Cliffs of Moher, Doolin, Limerick, Burren, Dublin. Trying to work in some beer stops, but that's not the main focus. I know the daughter wants to do the Guinness tour, I kind of count on hitting one of the 100 Brewdog locations to try their collab with Bearded Iris, but will mostly stumble upon random breweries and pubs likely.Image
