Well, since we just got back going full bore ... I'm pleased that we were able to get 30 gallons brewed since the beginning of November. One last batch and we will have brewed 40 gallons in 2013.

I keep getting rained out. This Thurs, I am brewing even if I have to hold a umbrella over the pot.

Started in mid summer this year.
Brewed ~ 2.25 gallons ber batch
5 Batches, 1 with mr. beer ingredients, 3 mr. beer recipe kits (1 modified slightly 2 straight up), 1 original recipe DME with steeping grains & 20 min hop boil.
We'll call it about 11 gallons.
Of those 5 batches: 1 was horrible, 1 was bad, 1 was ok, 1 was really good, and one is conditioning but I don't have high hopes for.
On the plus side I have learned a lot and do think my beers are getting better. Looking forward to 2014!

I am losing my wife of 25 years and a whole bunch of money. So I share your sentiment on 2013.
My brewing right now is about the only thing keeping me "sane".

Sounds like my first six months. Study and practice. I now make consistently good beer.

Bull & Tabasco, hang in there brothers. Something good is always around the corner. I've been on both sides of that corner more than once. Cheers!

40 gallons in 2013 for me.
That includes my first partial-mash, my first BIAB, and 7 gallons of various hard fruity drinks.
I was going to pick "best" and "worst" but I'm having a hard time finding one that I liked more than the others, and a hard time finding one that was a real disappointment. I guess that's a good sign.

Gosh, let's see. I started this in April, got way carried away (as usual) and now have a fermentation chamber with 9 LBK's, and I've brewed about 100 gallons, actually 50 8 liter batches of finished beer. Only lost a few liters to bugs, and am now starting to feel like I can do my own hop boils, and even though I try to stay extract, I'll probably go all grain or mostly grain if I can figure a way to do bigger boils. That dang mash step, really chews up my available time for brewing though. I think I'll get a 50lb bag of dme from GWKent, and see how long it lasts. Maybe throw in an occasional PM on a Sunday.
All in all, it's been an OK 2013. Nothing really new, just cruising along.

I returned to homebrewing in December of 2012 after a ten-year hiatus. I caught the bug bad this time. I was a busy brewer in 2013. The final tally:
23 individual batches
20 different recipes: 16 beers, 3 ciders, and 1 lemonade
62.5 gallons of homebrew
First brew of 2013 (22 January): Barney's Diablo Loco Cerveza (A MB-based Dos Equis clone)
Final brew of 2013 (31 December): 2thedogs Barleywine (An English Barleywine flavoured with Mission Figs)

2013 was an exciting year for me. I ventured into the land of AG and learned that I liked it a lot over there. Due to the increase in time required for AG, I moved to double batches. I started washing and re-using yeast. Participated in my first RCE, which was awesome. Helped 3 friends enter the world of home brewing (very proud of this one). Many experiments, including brewing my first non-alcoholic brew. Overall, I did 25 batches for roughly 70 gallons.
