FedoraDave wrote:I got a bottle of Brooklyn Brewery's 25th Anniversary from my daughter and her fiance (this young man is a welcome addition to the family!), and SWMBO surprised me with a Tommy Bahama Hawaiian Shirt bottle opener for my bottle opener collection. My brother and his wife got me a "Man Cave" kit, which consists of a bag of Beer Chips (made, apparently, with maltodextrin), a summer sausage, and a mug with "Man Cave - Eat, Drink, and Whatever" printed on it, to display with my other glassware.
The best thing, though, is the big gift SWMBO had custom-made for me. She works with a guy who has a side business of making cornhole sets. She tricked me into printing a couple of label sheets, telling me this guy was interested in my labels. So she commissioned him to make two cornhole boards, one with a Pearly Pils label, and the other with a FedoraDave's American Ale label. He hand-painted the designs, which he doesn't do anymore; he only does decals. This will be a fun addition to backyard barbecues, and in the meantime, they look pretty neat in the ManCave.
My mom also got me a 3-gallon carboy for my birthday, but I haven't opened it yet, because it's only 6:00 am, and I'll open all my birthday prezzies this evening. I've shown amazing restraint, since it arrived a week ago.
Dave,
Being the immature idiot that I am I have to tell you that, out here in "fly-over-land", "cornhole" means something completely different than what it apparently does there so close to the big city. I have to admit that you had me worried for a while and I had to look it up. As a public service to others who are as easily confused as I "cornhole" is another name for "bean-bag toss".

Thank for clarifying that Chuck. Being Southern I knew what it meant in my neck of the woods. I had to look it up also, because I thought what happens in the Hat family should stay in the Hat family.

Hmmm, not a great term in my neck of the woods... LOL. Glad someone posted what it means to easterners.

I'm not sure it Eastern. I was worried too! But I figured, what the heck, his mom sends strippers, he gets cornhole, it's the 21st century.

Hey guys,
I've been on vacation from work since the 23rd so I've taken advantage of the time off and been out hiking, visiting with friends, etc. As a result, I haven't been on much this week so I'm just reading through a lot of threads now.
I got a few things - exactly what I wanted:
New Perlick 525SS taps for the kegerator
New growler/bottler filler for the taps
Two tulip glasses from MoreBeer:
I didn't want anything else so I am completely content at this point.
I hope Christmas was everything that all y'all wanted it to be. I've been able to spend time with family and friends, take my dog out hiking and just generally enjoying myself.
As a result, I've also been drinking less and being more active. Feeling good right now.
Cheers!

Hmmm....it appears I asked for the wrong thing for my birthday.
My mom got me what I asked for, which is a Better Bottle 3-gallon ported carboy. I didn't realize at the time that this means it has a hole at the bottom for a spigot so you can rack it using a hose rather than a siphon. So I need to get the spigot for it, just so I can plug the hole. Guess I'll order that today.
Nice brain-fart, Dave.

If you are going to have a brain fart, make it a useful one. And it appears you have. So suck it up butter cup and enjoy the ride.

The "Vintage" Tigers pint glass is from my oldest daughter and the 2 brew kits nad hte NYC mug is from my middle daughter! Not bad!

Love the beer holder. I've been wanting one just like it to hold my flip top bottles.
