Glad to hear it Leigh. Get well.
No need, sorry Rick! But I think when I'm feeling better I going to have you and the other local Borg members over for a beer exchange and tasting!
So we'd sit there and drink, tell you how wonderful it all tastes, while you sit with a mournful look on your face because your doctor said no beer for a year? COUNT ME IN!

Sample conversation:
Bob - My back, my back. I can't lift anything. And can't drink with these meds.
Louie - My stomach, my stomach. I can't laugh and can't drink.
Rick and DaYooper - Sheesh, be quiet you pain in the butts, we're trying to drink your beer...

That's GREAT new Leigh. Just look at the IV drip and think of it as a reverse air lock.

Just like brewing I need to be patient and wait for everything to get to where it needs to be!
Great news Leigh! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Leigh,
Hope you continue to improve. Once the inflammation is your colon subsides you may be able to start drinking beer again in moderation. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you should do well. Diverticular disease is very common and treatable.

Wow, I've been gone for a while. I just read the whole thing. Hope everything works out well and you can get back to enjoying the end result of this hobby again. In the meantime, listen to the doctor and get better.

Again, thank you everyone for your support and encouragement. Just an update, I was discharged from the hospital this morning and promptly came home and took a nap. I think that was the first good sleep I've had in 3 days. Anyway I have several doctor appointments and tests that I need to take care of and figure out what I can and can't eat, but it's so nice to be home!

Sleep is good Leigh, especially when it's in your own bed. Thanks for the update. Good vibes coming your way.

You've discovered the secret to how hospitals make you better: massive doses of enforced insomnia which induces uncontrollable desire to climb into your own bed forever, they call it forced bed rest.
Been there done that.
Wishing you a speedy recovery and an uncomplicated diet adjustment.
