The sad thing was, he didn't even need to push off to catch the ball.
I gave up on the Saints after the Cleveland game. Nothing against Cleveland, it's just that's when I realized you can have the best players on paper but with no execution, you're nowhere.
I'm not even sure any team deserved this game. Lots of mistakes on both sides. Sloppy as shyte.
Painful but as soon as I accept that we fit the definition of suck, I'm ok with it. However, I see the Brees/Payton era over and that makes me sad. The last 6 years have been a joy for a guy who was there since the beginning.
Glad I have my beer to make me happy.
No back to Fresh Squeeze talk!

While I'm waiting for the beer to condition just a bit, I get to stare at the label!

Dry hopped tonite and I'm at 1.015 for 7.1% ABV......was hoping to be closer to 6.5% but I'll take it. The sample didn't taste extraordinary but certainly didn't show any problems or off flavors. Looked very nice and we'll know in a few weeks or so.

We kegged and bottled RedBEERd's half of the Fresh Squeeze clone tonite and it came in right at 7% as well. His half used 05 while I used 001. His tasted pretty damn good. Mine seemed a bit too dry while his seemed perfect. Both smelled pretty good for the small amount of hops used. Can't wait to do a side by side. Heck, I just can't wait to drink them. I think I'll be doing this one again soon.

Dear Kealia,
I see that you have not been feeling well.
This is a get well soon card from the Brewbirds as we really care that you, like all of our
brethren are healthy and happy.
I had always thought that Beer_Lord was your Borg BFF but since following this thread I see that he really only cares about your hops so we wanted to offer you some moral support while your taste buds are in R and R.
I am sure that once you are feeling better and NOT UNDER PRESSURE FROM OTHERS to judge your Fresh Squeezed IPA clone that you will find that it is in fact just as great as all the other great beers you've made.
Please don't allow the pressure applied by the DOH priest to interfere with your imminent recovery as the Borg as a whole would like to have you back 100%.
I will send another PM to see how you are doing in a few days. Please don't tell BL that I sent you this PM since he is a moderator and might mess with my stuff.
Hope you get well soon.

I just can't get any respect. Don't pity Ron, he loves that stuff. He's also hoarding beer which is a problem his wife is working on.
As for as caring for only hops, a hop addict has to have his priorities in order. I work hard to keep hops in the forefront of my life. Don't judge.

LOL, great post - thanks. I'm back on my feet and had a crazy busy weekend.
Tonight I had another one and I have to say it's damn close to the real thing. I think the Nugget *could* add something to it, but that also could just be me picking apart what I know isn't in the beer.
I'm going to enjoy these, for sure. I'll find a bottle somewhere to do a side-by-side to see just how close it is, but it's really good. And the recipe is pretty simple which just lets the hop shine through.
Into the fridge with them!

Only 3 days on gas and of course I had to try a tiny bit to see what it's like. Even not carbed enough I can definitely see where the name comes from. Orange is right up front followed by a number of multi citrus aromas. Not powerful but definitely up front and present. Can't wait till next weekend to give it a real hit though I know it'll be 2 weeks or more before it hits prime.

And by then you'll have one of mine in hand to compare and contract against, too.

Good luck with that other one. Clearly I have no idea whether it's good or not but it's local so I figured I'd send it along.

Ok. All I can say Ron is....Brotha, you know how to brew. Holy cow is this good. Awesome citrus aroma, perfect head, flavor is wonderful. You nailed this one. I'll be adding this to my long list of recipes to brew. Thanks so much for sending this!

Thanks Chris - glad you like, it! I'm pretty happy with it, although like I said I'll use the 'right' hops for bittering next time so I stay true to the clone recipe - maybe
I'm looking forward to trying Paul's to see if I can detect a difference in the bittering hops, but I don't really expect to since my taste buds aren't that discerning. I'd love to take credit for the recipe, but obviously I can't. So I'll take the credit for a recipe well-executed. Thanks!

Today, while watching a very crappy and sad game, RedBEERd and I tried a 3 way.
We tried my Fresh Squeezed, his and Kelia's side by side. The color of all 3 was spot on. All 3 were lighter on the aroma then I expected and all 3 were poured from bottles and none were draft.
Mine is on the left, Kealia's in the middle and RedBEERd's on the right. I used 001, and the other 2 were 05. All 3 were carbed fine and all poured with nice heads (thought the pics don't show it). Kelia's used a slightly different recipe and his bittering hops were different and I think that showed. His was a bit more bitter and actually, it tasted like a different yeast than 05....slightly tangy and spicy.
All were good and worth rebrewing but both RedBEERd and I thought mine was a tad bit more like Fresh Squeezed. Sadly, my kegged version is still not up to the snuff I expected by now but it seems my kegged beers always need 3 weeks before I really enjoy them.
This recipe deserves to be brewed again and I think I'd use more Nugget either at the very end in a whilrpool or extra dry hopped to bring out more orange flavor. It's almost there!

This is the weirdest three way I've ever been in.....
Would you say your bottle is ready to drink or should it stay out of the fridge longer?
