I live just north of Nashville and would be open to a meet up. A couple of those breweries are pretty cool, I could even get us some tours at a couple of them, having sold them some hops and all.

We had a fantastic time. A few of us rented a house, and a couple others stayed in a hotel. Everyone brought a bunch of homebrew. A good amount of time was spent sitting at the kitchen table at the house sampling everyones beer and enjoying the company. Some lifelong friendships were formed that weekend. And we collaborated to come up with a recipe that we are all working on....check out the Four Kilts Clueless thread in the Advanced Recipe section.

Good to see another member from the area. Let me know if you want to grab a pint somewhere around town at some point...

I've been fortunate enough to become friends of people at several of the breweries in town, which led us to three great tours during the Borg meet-up earlier this year. If we had had more time, we could have hit a few more, but maybe that will be for a future trip. All that we met up with were generous with time and beer. Neil gave us a great working tour at Yazoo, allowing us to spend quite a long time in the lab as they broke down what all they QC. As they were in the middle of an active brew session, we didn't get to get as close-up on the brewing equipment as I've been in the normal tour there, but we did get to see the brewery in action. As it was a Gerst bottling day, Neil was pulling just-bottled Gerst right off of the line. On the opposite end in terms of size and scope, Ken gave us a very personal tour of his Czann's brewery, with a lot of time and freedom to ask questions. Kent's tour of Blackstone was incredible as well. He gave us maybe 20 minutes on their brewing software, followed by an in-depth walkthru of the equipment and the beginnings of their gardens in back. Finally, when he decided to pull the nail on a barrel of Black Belle and get us samples right from the barrel... great. Was so great of all of them to give their time and energy for us.

Thank you Swen for all the time and effort you put into everything you did for us.
I know I've thanked you before, but I don't think I can thank you enough.
I do need to get another bottle of Black Belle. That beer is fantastic!

All I did was make a few phone calls. All the credit goes to Ken, Kent, and Neil. They all really came through...

Ken is a great guy. Wish he had a better location. Honky Tonk is another new brewery and the owner/brewer Scott is making some solid beer. Watch out for Southern Grist and Beerded Iris.

I really need to get out to Blackstone now that they've opened the taproom. I'm somewhat embarrassed that I haven't supported them after how fantastic Kent was regarding this tour. I feel that I shall remedy that soon.

We need to plan a time to get together and share a beer.
