First pour of my homebrewed Brewer's Gold IPA. Solid malt backbone of 83% Pale, 14% Munich, & 3% Crystal 10L. Three boil additions of whole leaf Brewer's Gold hops, some at flameout, as well as a dry hop. This one was bottled on 1/19/14 and finished at 8.0% ABV. This is a tasty one! Not a typical NW style IPA, these hops bring a different spice to the taste.

Decided to first pour the tasters of the two Mr. B lagers. This one is the Grand Bohemian Czech Pilsner done straight up with the S-23 Dry Lager Yeast. Brewed late October, bottled over the Christmas break. Pale straw with good carb but no head. Maybe just a touch of green apple (probably too early to open this lager after a month or so in the bottle), but somewhat predominant PoR hop flavor (sigh). Not nearly as predominant as it is in the Diablo or especially the Northwest, so I will be able to live with this. Actually quite drinkable, but will be better after significant conditioning. The main batch is in the beer fridge until spring.

Next up was the Patriot Lager with W-34/70. I like this one a fair bit better than the GBCP. A small ring of head that dissipated, but good carb. It has a bit more malt backbone and a bit more bitter (and not the predominant PoR flavor that's overwhelming in the GBCP). I'll still stick with the "inoffensive" review I left on this back on the Mr. B board, but I think the lager yeast helps a bit. Not awful, fairly drinkable, but not something I'd buy again (of course, I don't anticipate buying any of these HMEs). I like my AG lager a lot better. But on the other hand, this was a super quick brew day...

Just opened first bottle of my first all grain.
It came out a lot better than I thought it would.

Glad your first taste of your first pour of your first all grain batch came out good Wollffy.

That is a very nice pic, cool glass.

My first all grain experience was trepidation while waiting for carb/conditioning and very excited about how it turned after the long wait.

Looks good wollffy! BD Evil Pilsner is my next brew, and I'm doing a sazz hopp addition as well.
