You are very welcome. This was my first experience with the RCE and it has been such a pleasure. I'm definitely looking forward to trying our brews.

Kegged the collaboration Deep Ellum IPA tonite and I think I'm happy. Won't know for weeks but Beersmith shows it to be 7.3% and FG of 1.021 and I got 1.020 and 7.35%. Can't get any closer than that if you're me!
And, I'm sure mine is hoppier but I'm looking forward to seeing how mine and Rick's differ, if they do and how they compare to the real beer which I've never had and can't get here.

So, I'm pleased up to now and based on the recipe, I think I may be making this often.

To those who haven't done a collaboration, you just gotta do it. At least one of the group and likely both, can get out the box a bit and try something new or different. Thanks again Dave for doing the legwork on this.

My pleasure, Paul. I'm glad people find this exercise to be positive.

It makes me chuckle a little, though, when people thank me for doing "all the work" putting it together. Think about it: I create a sign-up thread, then two or three weeks later, I write the names and Skill Levels down on slips of paper, put those slips of paper in hats, draw names, and start another thread announcing who's partnered with whom.

Yeah, "all that work" really gets me breathing hard, boy. Gotta sit down and have a couple of lawnmower beers after all that exertion.

Sounds like a good beer you got going there, by the way. I eagerly anticipate your review of the finished product.

Rick and I have completed our beer 'assignments' and today, we each shipped our versions to each other and both of us should have them by Wednesday. We'll have to wait a few weeks to give them a try but I'm very much looking forward to it.

I think it would be a great idea if those who have completed their RCE's to discuss their experiences here. Personally, I'd love to read about how they've turned out.

Brewbirds just got a cooler available for an LBK so we hope to brew ours tomorrow. My left wrist is in a brace right now but I think I can still brew though moving a full LBK to the fridge was scary.

I will gladly post about our brew day because I think we had a great collaboration with JP and I'm really excited about our APA PM recipe.

Steve (bucknut) is way ahead of me. I just got to mine on Friday so it's been a whole 3 days in the fermenter :(

I bottled my winter ale this past weekend. I know Rayyankee was on schedule to bottle his this past weekend also, but I haven't heard from him as to whether he got it done or not. I'll have to drop him a line and see how it went. Now its waiting time. I'm planning on giving this 6 weeks to condition out since it's at 7.1%. That means I'll start drinking in mid-December; perfect timing for a winter ale!!

I haven't heard from k9dude since before we completely finalized our recipe. But it was just a matter of determining exactly which yeast we wanted to use. I went ahead and brewed it anyway. It's already been bottled, and I'm just waiting two or three more weeks.

I just finished unpacking the "beer mail" I received from beer-lord today. I felt like a child on Christmas morning!!

The whole experience was sensational for me. I needed a good IPA recipe to put in the cookbook and I believe we came up with a great one. Beer-lord went above and beyond, even contacting the brewmaster from Deep Ellum Brewing Company directly with questions and advice. The aroma of this brew, from the mash to the boil to the fermentation to the keg, was intoxicating. The small sample taste on keg day was very tasty. In about 10 more days, I'll know for certain.

I couldn't have asked for better partner. Especially for my first RCE experience.

Wow, thanks Rick! I am not worthy.
It was so painless, even a caveman could do it. As I've said before, communication is everything and you always replied when I emailed and it was your idea to try to do this beer so heaps of props go your way. It didn't hurt that we both are in love with IPA's either. Can't wait to try ours and theirs too! :urock:
