First attempt at dialing in the new 10 gallon MLT with hopefully a Blue Moon clone (or better). Sneaking outta work a wee early to hit the LHBS before rush hour and get everything set up for tomorrow (and dishes washed as I promised last nite).

Second attempt at an ESB right now, hops are in and using the new 16 qt brew kettle. Barely squeezed the grain bag in the old brew kettle for a dunk sparge.

Bottling the PacTiki Pale Ale tomorrow. Then Sunday, I'm taking another stab at Groomsman's Pride Black IPA. Revamping the entire recipe, actually. Starting with the 100 Years War IPA recipe, which I really liked, and adding some specialty grains for color and roastiness. The first batch turned out okay, but not at all what I was hoping for. Keep your fingers crossed.

I bet we are the most crooked fingered folks on the planet the way we root for our fellow brewers on the Borg.
Mine are crossed agian for you
I guess I'll put off pulling weeds again.

Just kegged a batch of Two Hearted clone, and bottled a batch of Belgian Dubbel, Double Highway ale. Sampling of both was impressive; I predict that some awesome tasting beers will be disappearing soon!

I'm going to change things up again. Normally I would bottle the batch I've been fermenting today and then wait until next Sunday to brew a new batch. But now that the weather is turning nice and I'm up to my eye brows in to-do projects I decided that rather than burn up two half Sundays doing beer related things I am going to bottle and brew all on the same day. In reality I'm not saving any time but I'll be getting the "eye rolls" only once every three weeks instead of twice every four. Plus it means that I'll be increasing my production. Nothing wrong with that.

Got the PacTiki done yesterday, and today I brewed the new Groomsman's Pride. Hit the projected OG, and I think it's a good one. Bubbling a bit already, and it's only been about six hours!

Bottled 4.6 gallons of Columbus Cascading Amber Ale @ 7.3%. Nailed the OG at 1.067 and attentuated below the projected FG @ 1.017 all the way down to 1.0132. A little stronger than I wanted but will condition it for a few weeks longer anyhoos.
I'm going to brew a 5 gallon batch of Johnny Silks ESB on this yeast cake as I am trying to use up most of my Mr Beer HME's prior to expiration date on cans. this will kill 4 cans of it and this recipe is one of T8r's favorites. Gotta beat this heat of early summer blowing thru Arid-zona.
too hot too early

Ended up waiting an extra few days before finally bottling my Spring Thaw IPL this past Saturday.
Was hoping to see the FG drop another point or two but alas, no... But at 1.020 it's still good.
(OG was 1.076 ish and it was Danish Lager yeast so it's fine!)
The sample I pulled was excellent! Good amount of bitter at 93 IBU's, most of which was dumped in inside of 20 minutes (Centennial and Citra) with an ounce of Amarillo as a late dry hop. I did do a small charge at 30 to reinforce some bitterness. The malt bill was Pilsen and Munich with a touch of Light Crystal and CaraPils. (the Munich really helps to support the hops)
Can't wait to try this one in a few weeks!
