SWMBO and I went to my FIL's coworker's house yesterday to visit his new litter of dachshunds that were born a few weeks ago. We already knew we were getting a boy, and have already decided to name him Otto. It was just a matter of picking out which of the boys in the litter we wanted. After letting them run around, Otto picked us, and he's the runt of the litter (which I particularly like, because he won't get much bigger than my girl cat, Maya Kay).
Anyhow, Borg, I present to you Otto the Hotdog!
We already have a cage for him to sleep in when we bring him home in about a month, but Maya Kay took interest in it and decided to park herself.

It is amazing how when you go to look at a litter of puppies it is always the puppy that picks you.
And most of mine have managed to name themselves through their antics and behavior once they got "home".
Pets are so awesome have fun with your new little guy Phil and keep the camera/video handy if you can.

Just a simple rule. YOU don't pic the dog, the DOG picks you. If you don't pay attention to that rule, there's trouble to be had.
