Bottling questions...first time

OK....I am ready to bottle my first batch of Oktoberfest tonight. I just wanted to make sure I am clear on this, so here goes.....

I am using 12 oz glass bottles.....they have been thoroughly rinsed, soaked in OxiClean Free to remove lables, glue, etc & sanitized in the dishwasher with high temp wash.

Next, I will sanitize each bottle using the no-rinse sanitizer that comes with MrB refills.
Then, add one cube of Dots pure cane sugar to each bottle
Fill each bottle with beer to about half way up the neck
Soak caps in sanitizer solution
Cap each bottle
Store in cool dark place for a minimum of 3 weeks to allow to condition
Place in refrigerator not less than two days before drinking
Drink and be happy!

Does this sounds right or did I miss something?

Thanks,
CheapTrix

You're good to go.

I'm assuming you also rinsed them after the oxyclean free soak, because the dishwasher probably won't get enough water up them if you didn't.

You used the word minimum of 3 weeks. That's true, that would be the minimum. 4 is better if you can stand the wait.

Have fun bottling, sounds like u have it down. 4 weeks in the bottle at room temp, 3 days in da chill box, pour slowly into a glass leaving bout 1/4 inch of beer in the bottle (to avoid bottle trub in glass) and enjoy!

Glad to see you've got the first batch to bottling day.

Like the others have said you seem to have your system down and in a few weeks you will have beer.

:urock:

Please keep us posted when you crack open the first brew.

I'd just like to add that the trub at the bottom of the bottle was a lot less for me on my 3rd batch than it was my first batch.

I did 2 things different.

#1) I cold crashed w/ the front propped up on 1-2 CD cases (same as in fermenting cooler) in my fridge for 3 days.

#2) I batch primed (on CD cases) while the trub was still cold and hard on the bottom of the primary LBK to a 2nd LBK with my sugar water. Then bottled from there.
