I just saw this stainless steel bucket with a conical bottom for $175, plus they have another conical for $395.

Re: Damn this sounds tempting.
That does look interesting, and the price isn't too bad at $175. I wonder how long it would take to get one since they are sold out!
Nevermind, looks like they will be back in stock on 10/25.

Re: Damn this sounds tempting.
If they made a 3 gallon version for $99 I'd be tempted.

If they did that, I'd throw away all my better bottles with the racking adaptors.mashani wrote:If they made a 3 gallon version for $99 I'd be tempted.

The size seems decent too. Not too huge. My biggest concern with conicals is temp control. This bucket would prob fit in my chest freezer or my cool brewing bag.LouieMacGoo wrote:That does look interesting, and the price isn't too bad at $175. I'm wondering what would be the benefit of this fermentor over the bucket ones I have now? Would the spigot act as a trub dump? Or could you bottle straight from this bucket, since you can rotate the pickup tube on the inside? I am interested in getting this

Yes that's it. Better Bottle also makes a racking adaptor where you can move the spigot above the trub line. It works well, but the conical shape of this bucket at the bottom is even better.yankfan9 wrote:I'm wondering what would be the benefit of this fermentor over the bucket ones I have now?
