False bottom for BIAB boil?

I've used my false bottom during boiling but don't even think it helps much if at all. I can see having it for the mash as it does protect the grains from scorching but with lots of pellet hops, I get some clogs near the end of transfering and think I can do just as well with a bit of whirlpooling.
Does anyone use their false bottom for the boil?

I've heard of a few brewers using a false bottom in the boil kettle just like you mention. What I've always done on my kettles is install a ball valve a little higher off the bottom of the kettle. Usually right around the 1 gal area. This way while and after I chill the wort, all the break and hop material settles out below the point of the valve and I can open the valve to transfer the wort to the fermenter and leave behind all the debris. As I get down to the bottom of the kettle I tilt the kettle forward towards the ball valve to get all the wort.

When I do my BIAB i don't use a false bottom at all. When I go to rack the wort to the fermenter I tilt the brew kettle so that the break and hop stuffs stay away from the end of the racking cane. I also make a little bit larger batch so I can leave behind a good amount of wort and make sure the raked wort is as clear as possible. I've not had a problem with scorching or with the bag melting since I don't have flame on with the grain bag is in the kettle.

I've switched my recipes to 6 gallon batches for the same reason....to insure I can get as close as possible to 5 gallons in the keg. Takes no more time to brew it and only a bit more ingredients.
I'll just have to remember to remove the false bottom before boiling. My pot has a pretty good bottom so scorching shouldn't be a problem anyway but I like the thought of having a false bottom there anyway. That and I paid for it.
