Last night I had a bottle of Pace car Session IPA from Bear Republic out here in CA.

If you've ever had Racer 5 from them, this is a perfect session version of that beer. It took all the qualities of that beer and made it lighter, with a crisp and dry finish that definitely makes it an easy drinker.

Good stuff.

Borg gathering in *cough* California.....

I'm not sure where they distribute yet as I've not seen it around me. My buddy picked it up for me when he was up North about an hour from me. Post Asheville, if you guys haven't sprained a liver or lost a kidney I'll be glad to hook you up.

I will go on the record as saying that I was interested in SD for this years Borg Reunion.....but knowing it's not a cheap place to stay or get to, and because I miss my borg brethren :shots: , I relented. Plus, they have beer.

Wow, the IPAs coming out of Nashville these days.  Bhang Bhang is a DIPA from Mantra Artisan Ales in Franklin (a southern suburb, and where I live).  Simcoe for days in this one, as well as mosaic and centennial.  Dank, cloudy, fruity, piney goodness.  Between Mantra, Southern Grist, Yazoo, Bearded Iris, Blackstone, and others, the IPA scene here has stepped up dramatically in the last year or two.  This releases tomorrow, so if you are in the area, stop by Mantra for the noon release.  I might be there helping/hindering the roast of some butternut squash and sweet potatoes for a one-off they are doing for the local beer fest, and I'll definitely be around Sunday when they fill their coolship for the first time.  Great having a brewery right around the corner from the house.

Bhang... it seems to be missing an important ingredient. If it really is Bhang... ya know. Maybe it needs to be brewed in CO or CA.

Oh, I'm drinking my close enough for a hand grenade version of Levitation, which l like far too much for my own good.

Second to last bottle of my lacto soured Caveman style Heather Ale (it's a Gruit/Braggot - no hops, just heather and honey and malt).

Trying to empty my keg of Honey Rye Cream ale this afternoon. Going to need the keg for another batch shortly.
