Tap a Draft

Anyone using one. I bought one and natural carbed, the first time I used it it was great. Second time not so well, the Co2 discharged in about 10 minutes. I could see it forming frost on the cartridge holder. I was able to use the bottle from the pressure of the carbonation. At the end of the night we were just pouring out of the top b/c I only bought 1 cartridge with me since it worked so well last time. I am unsure about this thing and am a little worried on weather it was an operator level error or was the first time an anomily?

Lots of posts on the Mr. Beer forum, if Search lets you find them. Joe Chianti has one I believe.

I am going to try again this weekend. If it fails I will just have to drink it all, my wife will love the gas that comes with that

I had too much beer in the bottle. Too much and it releases the overflow valve and discharges the cart in about 10 min.

That's good to know. But how did you find that out? I have 3 taps, 2 are the old white ones that hold a couple 8 gram cartridges and the 3rd one is the newer style black tap that holds one 16 gram cartridge. I find the older ones sturdier and more reliable, but you can only find them used. The new ones look nicer but they are more flimsy to me. I have some of the 6 liter bottles they come with, but I mostly use 3 liter soda bottles so I can have more variety at one time.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I googled it then used another cart when the keg was 1/2 full to see if it worked. No leak so I think that solved it. I will put it to about 3/4 full and bottled the rest.
