Did you compare born-on dates between the singles and the pricier six-pack? That's the only thing that might logically explain the situation.

Sue is a big ol' GABF silver winning imperial smoked porter, so age isn't a big factor for it. In fact, I have some bombers from 2015 of it still around that I just found (man, I have too much beer on hand). And, the Yazoo date stamper is notoriously flawed to the point that it's a running gag over the last decade. I don't see a date on these. My theory is that someone pirated two of the bottles from a sixer into their mix-six prior to me, so they took the other 4 bottles and put them on the mixer shelf. But that's just guesswork.

Was my birthday this week, and the wife went a little overboard on a gift. Pretentious Beer and Glass Company in Knoxville is a super-cool place with fantastic glassware blown on site. They brew exclusively one-off beers for the taproom, where you can enjoy the beers while watching them blow and create the glassware. Pretty sweet. We haven't been there yet (though I plan to soon), but about a year ago we watched a show online that profiled them (couldn't find a vid of that) and I mentioned loving the dual (split black and tan glass) they sold. I got a little addicted to finding videos on them and their process but figured I'd never spend the $$ on the glassware since I have so... many... glasses.... (and I'm known to be frugal, especially about something that's essentially a luxury item). Little did I know that the wife had taken note of that and started early plotting on purchasing a few glasses (including the Dual glass) for my birthday. Even got a friend in Knoxville involved in picking them up and bringing them to Nashville on their last visit.

Here are the glasses, a gift a full year in the making... first the Dual with Sue on one side and homebrew kolsch on the other:

Image

and here are the other two... a Sauvin IPA glass and the Imperial for stouts, belgians and hi-gravs (the little description sheets are actually flipped in the pic):

Here's their storefront:

And the brewery:
Pretentious Beer Company

Here's a profile on the glass side of the house about crafting his lager glass (which might be my next target if/when he makes it available again):

And another from Etsy:

Now... the glassware purge has begun. I promised when I got these that I'd purge any non-important glasses. All pint glasses (minus those from people on here)? Gone! Duplicates? Cut down to one. I have so many tulips, so any with no significance (bought on a trip or at a favorite brewery)? Gone! Well, none of these are actually gone yet. But they are out of the shelf, in a box, and I'm trying to figure if I'm going to keep them for the daughter, sell them, give them, take to Goodwill, etc...

Oh, and here's the glass they did for a Yazoo event during the solar eclipse a few years ago... I was in San Diego at the time, or I would have totally gotten one of those glasses. I occasionally search for one for sale online, but it's been to no avail... there were only 40 glasses produced, so likely this is a fruitless search.

Jeez, snow in late April? Really, is that somewhat normal?
You should try Farmhouse Brewing Supply or Yakima Valley hops for better prices. $2.70 an oz is robbery. I could sell you some of my stock for less than that and still make a profit. See the man behind the curtain.

Sometimes. Said maybe 1-2" in higher elevations and that's where I'm at. It won't stick and will be back in tee shirt weather in a couple days, that's western NY.

I usually plan ahead better but needed a couple things and I try to help out my LHBS, and ended up getting more (and more money) then I planned, he is hardly breaking even on his business and is retired and just does it because he likes making beer and it's a handy place to stop for something fast and has a 4 tap keezer in the store for sampling also. :) https://www.straightfermentations.com/
