Rushing the pipeline a little?

I've taken to bringing my beer up from the basement, where they carb/condition, and putting them in the beer closet in the ManCaveTM after three weeks. I put a couple of bottles in the fridge to test after a couple of days, but the others sit in the closet for at least another week. I don't know if I'm rushing things that much. But I like seeing the beer closet get filled up a little more, and it won't be long before I've really hit my stride and am keeping it full.

I don't blame you for doing that Dave, I know you said your pipeline was at a low and it's a good sight to see to have some beers to drink. You've got this down pat anyways and you know what can be drank early and what has to condition a little longer. I say go for it because you will be brewing heavy in the up coming months, I know I'm going to.

It helps having a fiver or two in the wings.

I hear ya. Just did inventory last nite and was amazed how low the stock has gotten over tailgate season with less time to brew and more beers to share. So had to throw a MrB in the LBK QUICKLY and am now planning what to brew next weekend. Think I am going to try a quick Centennial Blonde with a leaf Cascade dry hop as still have some sitting in the fridge from harvest. I am thinking the dry hop will only add about a half week to a quick conditioning blonde.

I find that some grain batches are ready after two weeks in the bottle. Noticeably those using Nottingham yeast. I recently split a batch of pale ale, fermenting half with notty, half with 05. I let the 05 batch ferment a bit longer due to my schedule, it went two points lower. But the notty was ready after two weeks, the 05 not yet.

Since we just do LBK size batches and put them in the beer closet I know what you mean about how you like seeing it get filled up. Ours is a constant ebb and flow of adding 20 + bottles and morning the last few as gone when they go to the cooler it's always "OMG there's only two left" and you
almost don't want to drink them.
Successful home brewers must have a certain kind of gene for patience and calm.

My all grain batches are usually ready after two weeks; that's not rushing it. I just got an 'interesting infusion' to my pipeline last week. My homebrew club had a raffle for swag and beers from the last beer competition... I walked away with 4 Lallemand yeast packs & 24 bottles of 'mystery homebrews'. I have the BJCP category labelled on each. Sampling will ensue soon!
