Furry Family Side part 2

Post by Inkleg »

This was enjoyed on the other site and I see ALOT of folks talking about their pets here. So here it is.

Looks like everyone here has some kind of pet. I'd like to start a thread were we could come and post pictures and info on all the family members who can't type but are right there with you while your reading this. Names, How did you get them, funny things they have done (or doing right now), past pets and how great they were.
For lack of being confirmed crazy I'll start.

Left to right. Mya 12 year hound mix. Found tied to the bumper of car at church at 10 weeks old. Willow 11 year Shepard mix, picked up at pound at 3 months old. Killian 7 year Catahoula Leopard Hound mix. Found loose at Rite Aid 4 years ago. Conan(The Barbarian) 7 year Bassett Hound. Found going to the off leash dog park two years ago. Mya passed August 4th 2012 and is missed very much.

If you take the words Still Here and take away some letters you have our out door cat Silere. Took up with us 3 years ago.

I'm looking forward to pictures and stories of those who you love and make your day a little better just by being there.

Oh yea, the two whom The Naked Cat Brewery is named after.
Bella 8 year Sphinx and Tobias 3 years. My wife worked the death of Belas owner and we are grateful to care for her now. Tobias is a retired breeder living the good life now.
As most of you know, Tobias has since pasted, but he enjoyed life to the fullest.

My homebrewery was named after my black domestic shorthair, Sebastian Rufus, who goes by many nicknames including Mr. Rufus, Bubba, Bubs, Woofus, and when he gets in trouble he goes by Little S**t. But I have another cat. An orange tabby domestic shorthair named Maya Kay, AKA Little Mama, Mama, and Little S**t (haha).

We rescued Sebastian from the local Humane Society at 6 weeks old. And Maya Kay was adopted from my wife's late grandmother's vet at 4 weeks old, who had no room for the kittens that his cat had birthed.

This is them now after 4 years.

Silere is a gorgeous cat, Jeff. I have a tendency to call all black cats Bubs now because of Sebastian, and Ninja sure is a Bubs clone! And yeah hehe, more like fire and ice, but ying and yang works too!

Don't get me started, I will share every single dog picture I have and it will be weird lol.

Here is Loki our 97 lb Shepherd mix (we are thinking Dane or Wolfhound given how tall and skinny he is)

And here is Thor our 57 lb (at 7 months) Shepherd Husky mix

The new puppy was a struggle for a long time. He is very vocal and they have very different personalities sometimes, Thor just wants attention and to be left alone but Loki is very jealous and doesn't like sharing toys, attention, or space lol. He is finally potty trained and we can leave him out of the kennel more without the big one practically attacking him.

Here's Charlie also known as Bubby and many other names. We've had lots of cats and now only 1 and she hides in the upstairs bathroom closet, afraid of everyone but me (who she should really fear). No pics of her.

This is Ralph the Wonderdog in his element. I got him at the Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS) Dec 19 of 2010. He was approximately 2 years old at the time. He immediately fell in love with my grandkids. As far as I can tell he seems to be half German Shepherd half Rough Collie. After a number of people told me he looks like part collie I googled German Shepherd Collie mix and found some dogs that could be his twins. He is extremely intelligent and well behaved. He has never gotten into my trash, I can leave a plate full of freshly grilled meat on the patio table alone with him and he won't touch it, he simply does not take anything that hasn't been given to him. He takes treats very gently from my grandkids. He does not chew on anything but his tennis balls and he doesn't dig. He simply has none of the bad habits that most dogs have at least one of. His downside is that he sheds like crazy. As annoying as that is it is easy to live with.

Ralph relaxing on my theater seat. This is how I found him when I came out of the bathroom.

Ralph giving me his approval of a new keg for Ralph and Roger's Pub and Brew

Ralph showing me the new fermenter he just got for Ralph and Roger's Pub and Brew

Here he is modeling it for me after it was set up.

Finally at the end of a hard day guarding the brewpub it is time to relax with the children

I think Ralph may have a little of the lesser known Beer Herder breed in him, as well as the Get All the Loving You Can breed.

Conan will Stop, Drop and Roll for a belly rub at the drop of a hat. But he's a Bassett, so he doesn't have to drop very far.

Thanks. He was bought by my son for his girlfriends years ago while in high school. They broke up, my son went off to college and my wife fell in love with him. They are inseparable.
My son got black lab and he's nuts about him too.
And, Ralph's damn handsome himself!

My best buddy Chester the Happy Hound, He's with me most of the time when I'm home, he thinks he should drive instead of me.
