Aroma is a bit malty, pleasant with some notes of hops. Very aggressive pour gives you two fingers of head that fades rapidly. Leaves some slight lacing on the glass. Color is bright, golden and it's crystal clear when held up to the light.
First taste is OK and by that I mean....not great. I didn't go into this one with high hopes as most of Leinie's brews are mediocre at best. This one fits that mold as well. Think of Budweiser with a tinge of hop taste and aroma and that's what this beer is like. Their website says they use "five all American hops including Simcoe and Citra. I guess they might but I sure couldn't distinguish like you can pick out the Cascade in a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.
This strikes me as a session beer that you could put down quite a few of....on the light side, as in light body and light flavors.
