BlackDuck's Belgian Golden Strong Ale

I was luckly to be sent a few beers from BlackDuck and this is the first one I've tried so far. I was told to let it chill a week but I couldn't wait that long....chill haze bothers me NOT!

First off, carbed perfectly! When you bring the glass to your nose, you get a whiff of a slight alcohol and can smell the Belgian aroma that you would expect. This is a beer that the yeast definitely defines. Everyone here knows I'm an IPA fan but I do very much love enjoying other beers and I've wanted to try this since Chris was discussing his candi sugar additions.
It's got a nice, fruity front flavor that stays for a bit then mellows slightly. No bitterness to take away from the flavors it gives out. And, it's 9.5% and there is extremely little heat. Half way thru, and I can feel it's effects already.
This is a very good beer. Almost like a desert beer. It's got a great Belgian flavor, but not sweet to take away from the fruit flavors and aroma and Chris, you did a FINE job on this one. I know it was lots of work but if you do this again, you should enter it in a competition.
Thanks for sharing!

Paul...thanks so much for the kind words. It really is amazing what the yeast did on this one.

Desert beer is a good way put it. I guess I'll go have glass and a peice of pecan pie!!!
