I had a snow day today and started to explore Beersmith with the goal of coming up with a recipe to use some of the things that I have on hand.
Does this look like an IPA ?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.
I used a screen shot to export the recipe. Is there a better way to post right from Beersmith?

well it looks like your right in style. i say go for it, looks good!

Yep. IN case you don't know, those slide bars near the bottom that range from red to green are your 'guardrails' to keep you within style. You're right in the zone.

The only other thing I would add is that you may want to consider doing a dry hop for aroma, too. That's somewhat the IPA signature. Not required by any means, though.

+1 on the dry hop. 1/2 oz is plenty for that size.

What's a 'snow day'? Sorry, I really do feel for you guys to have to deal with that stuff but we just like our cold rain just fine.

I'll have .50 oz. of a Citra left for dry hopping. It's going to smell a grapefruit!

I particularly like to sort the items in the recipe by # order. This way you know the order of how to add things into the wort as you make it. But sort as you prefer! Recipe looks like it's in style, so go for it!

I don't know how to put the ingredients in a different order. I'm not crazy about the way they are listed in this screen shot.

The line at the top that shows "Amount" "Name" "Type", etc... click on the "#" sign, and it'll sort the items in numerical order. One click should have it ascending, and a second click should make it descending.

On the right side, 2/3'ds or so down the side, it says save report. Click on this. On the bottom of the screen that pops up, put in a file name. Under that is says save as type. Select HTML. On the very left side it lists a bunch of folders, etc. I always select desktop if it is only for copy'n and past'n somehere, like the borg. Otherwise, I have a special folder for saving recipes and I select it to copy too. Then hit save on the bottom of this window. It is now saved to the desktop, or whatever folder you placed it in.

Click on the file u just saved, it will bring it up. Point and left mouse click anywhere in that text box that comes up. Then hold down the ctrl button and hit a. This highlights everything in that text box. Then hold down the ctrl button and hit the c key. This copies everything u just highlighted.

Back to the forum. Open up your post (a new one or existing thread). Again, left mouse click inside this text box. Then do a right mouse click in this text box. Select paste in the menu that pops up. (Or, u can hold down the ctrl button again and hit the v key) You can leave the new text as is, or edit. Then press on with pride.

Hope that is what you where asking, it's pretty easy once u do it a couple times. I can do it... LOL

BB2 is the BeerSmith guy not me but if I am seeing an estimated pre-boil gravity of 1.06 +/- do you have all the extract going in at the beginning of the boil?

I'm also confused about the batch size.

Without the mash tab and volume tab it is hard to tell how the recipe is set up to be brewed if that makes sense.

Also it should not only smell like a grapefruit if it anything like the Citra we did a while back it will taste like the pink grepefruits we used to eat fresh off the tree when we lived in Florida.
