Denied at BB&B

Post by radonc73 »

I went to 2 different places here in NW Indiana. The first were all out of the Brooklyn Brew Shop kits. The second on had a crap load of kits but when I asked for a price check b/c they did n't have the clearance sign under it it was regular price. I couldn't see paying full price as I really just wanted the 1 gallon fermenter. I will check back in a few days maybe Monday when I go back to work after the weekend.

You can get the one gallon fermenter jugs at any homebrew store (here for $8 Northern Brewer) for a bit less than with the Brooklyn kits. Or you can do like me and buy a one gallon glass jug of apple juice/cider at Whole Foods (or other places that carry them) for that much or less. Make a hard cider from what's inside and then use the jug as a one gallon fermenter ongoing... All you have to do is add a cork and bubbler... :woot:

I was also looking at it as a lesson in partial mash brewing I have just moved into extract recipes so it seems like a good way to learn to a new skill or realize to stay with extract for a while. :muahaha:

Or you can get one for about the same price at any supermarket or party store with free - albeit cheap - wine inside already fermented!

Natural food store I frequent gives them out for free when they use up the apple juice in their little cafe'.
